All things consist

"And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist." Colossians 1.17

It is painful know of people who, until recently, seemed to be firm in their faith and are now fallen. I was wondering, why Lord? His response was immediate: Those who really are in Jesus do not remain for a time only, but for eternity. Those who were in the faith and have fallen is because they were never in Jesus in the first place. Because neither life, nor death, nor the world, or family problems, or sickness, or disease, or loved ones, that is, nothing in this world has the power to separate those who are in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Death was overcome

“O Death, where is your sting? O Hades, where is your victory?" 1 Corinthians 15.55
To those who are obedient to the Word of the Lord Jesus, death has lost its power. Rather, it is profit to those who live by faith. However, for the religious and unbelieving, it continues to terrorize them since the original sin. Even worse, filling the depths of hell.

Please!

“Then he said, ‘I beg you therefore, father, that you would send him to my father’s house, for I have five brothers, that he may testify to them, lest they also come to this place of torment.’" Luke 16.27-28
While the living on Earth visit the graves of their dead bringing flowers, lighting candles, attending Masses, offering prayers, etc.., The souls of their dead in hell beg God's servants to warn them on Earth, in order for them not end up at that place of torment.
But the biggest barrier to save them has been their own religions.

Never satisfied...

"Hell and Destruction are never full; so the eyes of man are never satisfied." Proverbs 27.20
Hell, the grave and human eyes have this in common: they are never satisfied. Hell and the grave are facts to those already there. But for the living, the worst are the eyes, which, if left unsupervised, will lead to hell.

Witness

"But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” Acts 1.8

Nobody needs to receive the Holy Spirit to be healed, delivered from evil or to be prosperous. These miracles are natural wonders of faith in Jesus.
But to an "eyewitness" of His resurrection, a new creature and to possess His character, only by receiving the baptism of the Holy Spirit can you achieve that. He is the One who maintains our salvation until death.

Death in the pot

"So one went out into the field to gather herbs, and found a wild vine, and gathered from it a lapful of wild gourds, and came and sliced them into the pot of stew, though they did not know what they were. Then they served it to the men to eat. Now it happened, as they were eating the stew, that they cried out and said, 'Man of God, there is death in the pot!' And they could not eat it. So he said, 'Then bring some flour.' And he put it into the pot, and said, 'Serve it to the people, that they may eat.' And there was nothing harmful in the pot." 2 Kings 4.39-41
The wild vine is showy, draws attention and looks good for consumption. So is the novel  "Saint Jorge" (Brazilian soap opera), whose appeal is to entertain. But in the end, is poisonous because it conveys the spirit of idolatry. It is certain death. Anything that contradicts the Word of God kills.
But whatever promotes living faith in the Living God produces life. Jesus is the Bread of Life, the "flour" that neutralizes the death in the family pot.

Faithfulness

"...Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life." Revelation 2.10

The crown of life, that is, eternal life, depends on our faithfulness to the Lord Jesus until death. Just as faith is proven to death, our faithfulness is also. If our forefathers in faith have been proven to the end of their journeys in this world, why would we be spared?
If athletes take pains and sacrifice everything for a perishable gold medal, why should we not sacrifice everything for eternal life?

Dead faith

"For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also." James 2.26

The text leaves no doubt: faith without works is dead, hopeless. And what has been impeding people from taking actions of faith?
The feelings of their hearts.
These feelings are hindering people from the sacrifice that brings results.

Flesh vs. Spirit

"For the mind set on the flesh is death, but the mind set on the Spirit is life and peace" Romans 8.6

To lean onto the flesh means fulfilling the desires of the heart, which is the source of misleading and prohibited feelings.
To lean onto the Spirit is to deny the feelings of the heart and practicing the discipline of faith.
The flesh hates discipline, order, justice, Bible, Law, fear of God, perseverance, Commandments, and everything else that pertains to spiritual values and that are contrary to the emotions of the heart.

A grain of wheat

"Most assuredly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it produces much grain." John 12.24
The unchangeable law of multiplication demands death. By this, the Lord Jesus teaches that in order for one to be born of the Holy Spirit, they have to die to the world.

GOOD CONSCIENCE

"...having faith and a good conscience, which some having rejected, concerning the faith have suffered shipwreck."      1 Timothy 1.19
Sin brings on a bad conscience. A bad conscience brings on doubt. Doubt neutralizes faith, which brings on death.
Many have had their faith suffer shipwrecks because they rejected a good conscience.
Those who prize their salvation maintain their faith and a good conscience.

THE AUTHORITY OF FAITH

"Therefore I write these things being absent, lest being present I should use sharpness, according to the authority which the Lord has given me for edification and not for destruction."     2 Corinthians 13.10
While doubts give evil the authority to spread terror and destruction, supernatural faith has the authority of God to save those who believe.
The servants of evil spread doubt and death.
The servants of God sow faith and life.

NOW

"Moses My servant is dead. Now therefore, arise, go over this Jordan, you and all this people, to the land which I am giving to them—the children of Israel."Joshua 1.2
Joshua was greatly affected by the death of Moses. This is when the Lord uplifted him by saying: Moses is dead. Until when will you keep mourning? Arise, NOW, and take hold of the promised land.
To live by faith is to leave the burdens of the past behind and move forward.
Forget the past, look ahead and firmly continue in the direction of achieving your goal.

FEAR AND TREMBLE

"The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction."     Proverbs 1.7
When the fear of God is absent from someone's life, the spirit of sin will dominate even the strongest man. With him come suffering, followed by death. These people's daily bread have shortened their days.
But the wise man prolongs his days by practicing the words that come from the mouth of God.

FLESH OR SPIRIT

"For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace."    Romans 8:5-6
Those who seek to fulfill the desires of the flesh (soul) will reap pain and suffering, until they are finished off by death.
But those who seek to obey the Spirit of God, that is, practice what the Word of the Spirit has inspired them, will enjoy the present and also the eternal salvation that is to come.

FEAR, FEAR AND FEAR...

“The fear of the LORD is a fountain of life, to turn one away from the snares of death."  Proverbs 14:27

When people no longer fear God, they’re driven towards violence, corruption and death. But, the sense of well-being and success blinds the wicked from understanding this.
However, the faithful, those who turn away from evil and have practiced the Word of God have life, peace and above all, the guarantee of eternal life.

Gold

Fools and blind! For which is greater, the gold or the temple that sanctifies[a] the gold? Mathew 23.17

The Lord asked the hypocrites but why?
Because they considered the offering more important than the Altar, which was the one that sanctified it. Unfortunately, this has been the attitude of many spiritually weak and sick Christian... in fact, some have even died. They were more attentive to what they left on the Altar than Who was receiving their offerings.

Spirit of Life

"For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death." Romans 8:2
As we surrender our lives to the Son of God and we receive His Spirit, His Divine law automatically comes true for us. His Divine return is the Spirit of Life and the power to be called Child of God, setting us free from eternal death.

Death

" I will ransom them from the power of the grave; I will redeem them from death. O Death, I will be your plagues! O Grave,[c] I will be your destruction! Pity is hidden from My eyes.”
Hosea 13:14

Those who are born of God do not fear death. They're not afraid because they have a divine nature. But those who are not born of the Spirit, their nature remains human. For this reason, only the word 'death' is enough to scare them. Much more it's nearness!

Preparation

"...and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace."
Ephesians 6: 15

If our decisions and desires are not according to God's will, we'll certainly enter in a deep and dark pit, nearing death.
