Prayer

"Then the LORD appeared to Solomon by night, and said to him: 'I have heard your prayer, and have chosen this place for Myself as a house of sacrifice.'" 2 Chronicles 7.20
I believe that prayer is effective only when it is sincere. Without sincerity, it’s useless to say many words. It's like sowing in the wind. Also formalities, like being on your knees or attending church, do not guarantee answers. What really counts is a contrite, broken and repentant heart, which characterises sincere humility.

Humility

"For we have no power against this great multitude that is coming against us; nor do we know what to do, but our eyes are upon You.” 2 Chronicles 20.12
As much as our problems may seem serious, urgent and insoluble, the Altar is the place where you can reach the answer. In the prayer of Jehoshaphat we find the humility that moves the Almighty and brings an immediate answer.

Please!

“Then he said, ‘I beg you therefore, father, that you would send him to my father’s house, for I have five brothers, that he may testify to them, lest they also come to this place of torment.’" Luke 16.27-28
While the living on Earth visit the graves of their dead bringing flowers, lighting candles, attending Masses, offering prayers, etc.., The souls of their dead in hell beg God's servants to warn them on Earth, in order for them not end up at that place of torment.
But the biggest barrier to save them has been their own religions.

Resentment

"He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked." 1 John 2.6
What is the point in confessing Jesus as Savior, be diligent in church, read the Bible, pray and fast, but at the same time, resent someone? Does this behavior has anything to do with Jesus? Is it possible to love God and hold grudges against anyone? Is this walking as Jesus walked?
"For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you." Matthew 6.14

There is rest in trusting

"I called on the Lord in distress; the Lord answered me and set me in a broad place." Psalms 118.5

Troubles are part of everyday life for every human beings. The difference is that not everyone has the Lord Jesus as a refuge. That's when they lose.
But for those who depend on Him, they find rest from praying and beign answered.

Confidence

"My voice You shall hear in the morning, O Lord; in the morning I will direct it to You, and I will look up. For You are not a God who takes pleasure in wickedness, nor shall evil dwell with You." Psalm 5.3-4
How Great You are, O God!
That bends to hear the voice of the most miserable sinner when he pleads honestly. And if He acts like this with the undeserving, imagine those who walk according to Your righteousness.

Abominable prayer

"One who turns away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer is an abomination." Proverbs 28.9
Those who despise the counsel of God will have no one to turn to when calamity strikes. And then they ask, "Where is the Lord God?"

At the beginning of your suplications...

"At the beginning of your supplications the command went out, and I have come to tell you, for you are greatly beloved..." Daniel 9.23
Daniel made a purpose of fasting and prayer in search for a revelation and the Lord heard him. In the faith of Daniel, we will also seek, not a revelation, but the Spirit of the One who reveals. And those who engage in this faith will also be visited by the Baptizer, the Lord Jesus Christ.

Show me the way

"In the morning let me hear about your faithful love, because I've put my trust in you. Show me the way I should live, because I pray to you." Psalm 143.8

No matter how simple the words of a prayer might be, when there is sincerity, sooner or later, the answer comes.

RENEW ME

"Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me."     Psalm 51.10
No sincere prayer goes unanswered. No matter how great the sin was against God, against others or against yourself, sincerity will destroy all of hell's plans. David was an example of this. He received God's mercy because his heart was sincere.
You can destroy all of hell's plans too. Tear your heart open before the Lord Almighty and your life will never be the same.

TENDER MERCIES

"Have mercy upon me, O God, according to Your loving kindness, according to the multitude of Your tender mercies, blot out my transgressions."     Psalm 51.1
Every sincere prayer has an immediate answer. Especially when it's from a sinner who is repentant. Look at David, for example, who sinned greatly and God still forgave him. The same is true for you too.
The Secret: sincerity and faith.

Prayer and supplication

"Then hear in heaven Your dwelling place their prayer and their supplication, and maintain their cause..."

1 Kings 8:49

The cry of the just reaches the Throne of God and the answer is immediate. Nevertheless, many times the devil tries to stop it with doubts. For this reason, it's important to be in the faith.

Greatness

"Arise, O LORD, in Your anger; lift Yourself up because of the rage of my enemies; rise up for me[a]to the judgment You have commanded!"

Psalms 7:6

The Lord hears the prayer of the sincere and defend them from their adversaries.

PROTECTION

"Nevertheless we made our prayer to our God, and set a watch against them day and night, because of them." Nehemiah 4:9

Prayer is the strength of the people of God and what makes them stand, allied with the Helmet of Salvation and the Shield of Faith.
