"Repent, or else I will come to you quickly and will fight against them with the sword of My mouth." Revelation 2.16Contrary to feelings like remorse, repentance has to do with intelligent actions or attitudes of obedience. First, acknowledge your sin, then hate it and, finally, abandon it permanently.

Repentance

Clothed with strength
"Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil." Ephesians 6.11
Putting on The armor of God involves the following ATTITUDES:
1 - Gird yourself with Truth, meaning let go of lies;
2 - Dress up in Righteousness, meaning leave sin;
3 - Put on the boots of Peace, meaning get rid of anger;
4 - Embrace the shield of Faith, meaning resist doubts;
5 - Put on the helmet of Salvation, meaning flee from sin;
6 - Occupy your mind with the sword of the Spirit: God's Word, meaning flee from futile reading and vain things;
7 - Stay in prayer and supplication in the Spirit rather than worrying about vanities;
8 - Also, always watch and do not let your faith be distracted.

Faith and works
"What does it profit, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can faith save him?" James 2.14
Salvation comes by faith.
But what is the kind of faith that brings salvation and the kind that does not?
Faith that is accompanied by attitudes, actions and sacrifices is the faith that saves. How can a person live by faith in Jesus without having to sacrifice their own will?
But the faith that does not save is like that of the demons. They believe in God, yet they are still demons. See this in James 2.19.

Dead faith
"For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also." James 2.26
The text leaves no doubt: faith without works is dead, hopeless. And what has been impeding people from taking actions of faith?
The feelings of their hearts.
These feelings are hindering people from the sacrifice that brings results.

Sadness
"How long shall I take counsel in my soul, having sorrow in my heart daily? How long will my enemy be exalted over me?"
Psalms 13: 2
When one goes to the point of recognising his resistance to God's voice, it's already a sign of humbleness. Nevertheless, this alone is not enough. There must be an attitude of seeking God with all his heart, understanding, and strength.

Visualize faith
" Then behold, they brought to Him a paralytic lying on a bed. When Jesus saw their faith, He said to the paralytic, “Son, be of good cheer; your sins are forgiven you.” Matthew 9:2
Jesus SAW the faith of those men. How does one see faith? Through attitudes, behavior, action, obedience to an assurance within... In other words, it has nothing to do with feelings or anything of the sort. When there's true faith, there are practical results.

Effort
"...the kingdom of heaven suffers violence, and the violent take it by force." Matthew 11:12
Our Lord teaches us that salvation costs a high price. It requires effort, determination, courage, and attitude. You will have to sacrifice constantly throughout your life. If you're too shy about it, you'll be left outside waiting.
