Prudent

“Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock." Matthew 7.24-25

Building a house on the rock requires more time, money and overall effort. However, once ready, nor even tsunamis are not able to bring it down.
The same applies to one who builds his life on Jesus. That is, listening and practicing His Word.

The importance and preference given to material possessions have been the plate of lentils offered successfully by the devil to those who don't fear God. And so they fall into temptation.

Advantage

"For the protection of wisdom is like the protection of money, and the advantage of knowledge is that wisdom preserves the life of him who has it." Ecclesiastes 7:12

Wisdom is like riches, and what is important about it is the life you receive through God's direction, as well as joy and peace with all.
