Covenant

“And I will establish My covenant between Me and you and your descendants after you in their generations, for an everlasting covenant, to be God to you and your descendants after you." Genesis 17.4
Covenant, pact, marriage or accepting Jesus as Lord and Savior involves mutual commitment between creature and Creator. It is all about sacrifice from both parties. Jesus sacrificed and is still sacrificing as He endures our imperfections. From our part, the sacrifice is to surrender our will to do His. This agreement allows Him to be our Lord and God for all eternity.

Holy Cup

"I will take up the cup of salvation, and call upon the name of the Lord." Psalm 116.13
The Cup of Salvation is the Lord Jesus Christ. To take it means committing to Him entirely. It's like a serious marriage, where the couple takes responsibility for each other for life. In relation to the Lord Jesus, marriage is for eternity.

Rebelliousness vs. Life

"He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.” John 3.36

A marriage only works out when there is surrender of body, soul and spirit. Body mates with body, soul with soul and spirit with spirit.
The belief in God is no different. There must be total surrender of body, soul and spirit. If one of then is lacking, then you lack belief. And if there's no belief, the wrath of God remains.

HE WILL GUIDE YOU

"...when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth;"   John 16:13
Accepting Jesus as your Lord and Savior and not serving Him or living a righteous life, is the same thing as getting married and continuing to live as though you are single. The Holy Spirit only comes upon those who are fully willing to commit to a marriage with His Son. Only after this happens will you be guided by the Holy Spirit.

Base of justice

"Take away the wicked from before the king, and his throne will be established in righteousness."

Proverbs 25.5

Life, marriage, business, moreover, all that is related to the human being needs to have the base of justice. On the contrary, soon it will all fall in ruins.
