The First Love

"Nevertheless I have this against you, that you have left your first love." Revelation 2.4
The leaving of the first love happens when there is an exchange for another love. What good is for a husband to provide comfortable living, jewelry, luxury and money but to be absent to his wife? The same is with those who give the best of themselves in the church but, at their hearts, Jesus no longer occupies the first place.

The dew of Mount Hermon

"Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity! It is like the precious oil upon the head, running down on the beard, the beard of Aaron, running down on the edge of his garments. It is like the dew of Hermon, descending upon the mountains of Zion; For there the Lord commanded the blessing—Life forevermore." Psalm 133.1-3
Mount Hermon represents the Mount of Consecration. It is the place where the Lord Jesus was transfigured, glorified and consecrated by God the Father before Peter, James and John. The Jordan River is formed from its sources and it supplies all Israel. It also typifies the Holy Spirit, which sustains the New Israel, the Church, worldwide. Led by the Spirit, King David says that is this Mount the Lord commanded His blessing and eternal life.

The name of the Lord Jesus Christ

"Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father." Philippians 2.9-11
The name of Jesus is not like any other name. It carries within itself all authority over all that exists in heaven, on earth and all the universe. That is, over all His creation and everything turns against it. No evil subsists or can stand against the Name of the Lord of Glory. Therefore, pronouncing this name frivolously is taking the name of the Lord God in vain.

Rest on the Altar

"And seeing the multitudes, He went up on a mountain, and when He was seated His disciples came to Him. Then He opened His mouth and taught them..." Matthew 5.1-2
The Lord Jesus used to take time to be alone with the Father when He went up the mountains, which can also be understood as the 'Altar'. And even in those precious moments, He did not refrain from doing the work He came to do. As soon as the disciples would approach Him, He began to teach them. This is the life of those who live on the Altar - even in times of rest and reflection, they serve those who need them.

Your eyes

"The lamp of the body is the eye. Therefore, when your eye is good, your whole body also is full of light. But when your eye is bad, your body also is full of darkness." Luke 11.34
While good eyes appreciate the beauty of virtue, evil eyes do not rest until they find faults within the details. Good eyes always see the good in people, but evil eyes will always have criticism.

The Fast

“Is this not the fast that I have chosen: to loose the bonds of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, to let the oppressed go free, and that you break every yoke?" Isaiah 58.6
The fast that pleases the Lord God is all about showing concern for the wronged, afflicted, oppressed, in short, all those who find themselves trapped in the claws of the devil. The work of God is to destroy the works of the devil. And to do so, the Lord has given us His Spirit.

Show us the Father

"Jesus said to him, 'Have I been with you so long, and yet you have not known Me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father; so how can you say, show us the Father'?" John 14.9
Those who are on the Lord Jesus must, as a rule, exude His perfume, have His image and manifest His character. If someone claims to have the Holy Spirit but does not reflect the image of God, he deceives himself.

The lake of fire and brimstone

"But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.” Revelation 21.8
This verse leaves no doubt as to those who will be condemned to the lake of fire and brimstone. The devil, the beast, the false prophet, hell, death and all the people whose names were not written in the Book of Life will enter this place of eternal torment. There will not be a single moment of relief. Not even hell can be compared to this place. Because of that, it is worth investing in saving souls while there is time.

What a story!

"This is the genealogy of Noah. Noah was a just man, perfect in his generations. Noah walked with God." Genesis 6.9
The story of the real men of God is summed up in by justice and integrity. Noah, Abraham, Job, Daniel and many others were great before the Almighty as they expressed His image, the image of justice in a world of injustice.

It is difficult, but not impossible

"...while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal." 2 Corinthians 4.18
If the person who is born of the Holy Spirit may find it hard not to heed to the lures of what your physical eyes see, imagine when you are not born of God. It is difficult, but not impossible. You really have to want it. But therein lies the secret of how to walk with God and the meaning of living by faith.

Confidence

"Therefore do not cast away your confidence, which has great reward." Hebrews 10.35
Not to cast away the confidence means keeping the faith. Many have given up, are discouraged or even abandoned the Christian faith for not seeing their wishes done in their time. They forget that the virtue of trust has great reward before God.

No condemnation

"There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus" Romans 8.1
Though someone's sins may exceed the limits, or as bad as they may be, when they begin to obey the Word of the Lord Jesus Christ they are is no longer  subject to condemnation. This eternal and inexhaustible treasure is reserved only for believers.

Intelligent faith

"For which of you, intending to build a tower, does not sit down first and count the cost, whether he has enough to finish it?" Luke 14.28

Intelligent faith has nothing to do with excitement, enthusiasm or feelings. Rather, Biblical faith requires the use of the intellect. It weighs, measures and checks that it is 100% in agreement with what he believes. From then, one must throw himself body, soul and spirit. That is, put all strength towards his goal.

Constantly

"Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.” Matthew 26.41

These are two things that must be constantly on our minds: watch and pray. They are as important to maintaining a clear conscience, and therefore salvation, as oxygen is  for life.
To watch is to always be careful not to be surprised by temptation, and to pray is to be constantly rebuking evil thoughts, doubts, fears and all evils.
It is better to always be on the watch than to fall.

Love and justice

“Can a woman forget her nursing child, and not have compassion on the son of her womb? Surely they may forget, yet I will not forget you." Isaiah 49.15

The righteousness of God is infinite and eternal.
The love of God is also infinite and eternal.
But would His everlasting love override His justice? Of course not! But by thinking like that, many people have been taking advantage of the Divine Compassion, thinking that at the end of it all, God will make a way to save everyone.

Abide in Me

"Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me." John 15.4
To abide in Him means persevering to follow Him. Everyone has the power to decide whether to continue or to quit it. Jesus gives us the right to choose to continue or quit walking with Him, and if we choose to abide in Him, then He will remain in us. Otherwise, no deal. Nobody can blame others or the devil for failing to follow the path of salvation.

If...

"If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you." John 15.7
God is not a magician. His favors and miracles never happen by chance, by luck or merit. Everything depends on Obedience to His Word. Jesus promises everything, but it all depends on the "if". If you abide in Me, and if my words abide in you... Ask what you desire.

Hatred

“If the world hates you, you know that it hated Me before it hated you." John 15.18
The feeling of hatred from the children of this world towards the children of God is part of carrying the cross. The Lord Jesus warned His disciples about it. It is waste of time trying to please God and the children of the world. It is more comfortable to keep the cross and take its sacrifices than trying to reconcile faith with the world.

Dream of dreams

"But while he thought about these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take to you Mary your wife, for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit." Matthew 1.20

When one is generated by the Holy Spirit, he is holy, pure, has character, is true, is correct, flee from evil, is perfect in the eyes of the Father, is faithful, loves God, loves his neighbor, forgives, is patient, fears God, he is a new creature, a servant, obedient, his thoughts match the thoughts of God, his word is yes, yes, no, no, and he serves Jesus with all of his heart, with all his strength and with all understanding .
But when he is generated by flesh, nothing of this happens.

Desired Temple

"The glory of this latter temple shall be greater than the former,’ says the Lord of hosts..." Haggai 2.9

The people were amazed when the First Temple was erected and the presence of God filled that holy place. It was just a test for what He really wanted to do: A temple for His Spirit inside each follower of His Son.
There is no greater honor than to be dwelling of the Most High God. If such knowledge is too great, imagine when you have that experience.

Faithful

"Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life. He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. He who overcomes shall not be hurt by the second death." Revelation 2.10-11
The practice of faithfulness is what makes the Christian an overcomer, worthy of eternal life. It is about character and honesty. Faith without character is useless. Unfortunately, many are believers in the church, and yet are unfaithful to the principles of character.

Vanity

"Ephraim is oppressed, crushed in judgment, because he was determined to go after vanity." Hosea 5.11 (NRSV)
All humans have at least a minimum of vanity. This is common to human nature. But what is not acceptable to the Lord is for one to be lead by vanity thoughts. The thoughts of the faithful must be guided by the thoughts of God. Ephraim preferred to walk in the vanity of his heart, which displeased the Lord and brought serious consequences for himself.

How?

He is the Rock, His work is perfect; for all His ways are justice, a God of truth and without injustice; righteous and upright is He." Deuteronomy 32.4

How wonderful is the Lord our God! Everything in Him is perfect, glorious and majestic! As the bear minimum Perfect imperfection? How would the Perfect put up with a minimum of impurity? And the Most Holy bear the profane? But by faith, practiced in the Word of His Son Jesus, we are justified. Justified to be perfect, pure and holy... How can we understand such greatness?

Taking Christian faith lightly

"The Lord is slow to anger and great in power, and will not at all acquit the wicked..." Nahum 1.3

That word is addressed to those who are take the Christian faith lightly. Especially for those who, claiming that God is love, are deliberately living in sin, as if the love of God would make Him tolerate sin or injustice.
The LORD is slow to anger and great in mercy and love, but never clears the guilty.

High heels

“Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven." Matthew 5.3
This was the first teaching of Jesus. At first glance, it does not seem to draw too much attention. However, this is the basis of deliverance and salvation. If a person does not become humble like a child, it is impossible to be born of the Holy Spirit. Is it not the truth that sets one free? But how can it freed someone proud? Impossible. Unfortunately, many people, despite being in the bottom of the pit, remain on top of their high heels shoes.

Whoever loves his wife loves himself

"So husbands ought to love their own wives as their own bodies; he who loves his wife loves himself." Ephesians 5:28
Much more than a feeling, love is caring. A wife's role is to replace her husband's mother and a husband's role is to replace his wife's father. The relationship between parents and children goes beyond feelings. Feelings are like clouds that come and go. But true and pure love cares about the other person with perseverance, and forever. He who loves his wife loves himself. Whoever mistreats his wife, hurts himself.

The love God wants

"He said to him the third time, 'Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me?' Peter was grieved because He said to him the third time, 'do you love Me?'And he said to Him, 'Lord, You know all things; You know that I love You.'Jesus said to him, 'Feed My sheep.'" John 21.17
Why did Jesus ask Peter if he loved Him? From my understanding, he wanted to teach about pure and true love. Just as faith requires attitude, love also requires action. Those who think that pure love is a feeling are completely wrong. It is not. Just as  and faith, it also requires sacrifices.

Test your faith

“Did I not say to you that if you would believe you would see the glory of God?” John 11.40

Do you believe in God? Yes, I believe.
You have faith in God? Yes, I have.
Belief, or faith, in God, means belief, or faith, in His Word.
Do you believe in God's Word? Yes, I do.
Do you obey the Word of God? Hmmm, more or less...
If you obey more or less, then your faith, or your belief, in God is more or less. This is the reason why many who believe in Jesus do not see the glory of God.
Obedience to God's Word shows the kind of faith we have.

Holy Spirit's grief

"And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice." Ephesians 4.30-31

No member of a body is capable of hurting the other. Rather, the members of a body cooperate with each other harmoniously to please the head. So must be the Church of the Lord Jesus. All that comprise it must work together for the edification of the Church, whose Head is Jesus. If there is a strange body among the members, there will be conflict with others. Sooner or later, the foreign element will be expelled.

Privilege of a few

"Who has believed our report? And to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?" Isaiah 53.1

It's true... Faith is not for everyone.
Everyone has the natural faith, but few have the supernatural faith.
The natural faith entitles you to sow whatever you want and reap what you have sown. But the supernatural faith, which is revealed to the poor in spirit, the faith that believes in the impossible, that brings into existence what does not exist, that makes things happen, and so on, that is the privilege of the few. Few are those who manage to enter through the narrow gate.

Wretched

"Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen." Ephesians 3.20-21

Sometimes, we occupy our minds with such insignificant needs and concerns that we forget that the Almighty is in us, trying to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think.  As the Apostle Paul says, oh wretched person I am!

Revolt

“O my lord, if the Lord is with us, why then has all this happened to us?" Judges 6.13
In the darkest hours, a cry cannot be silenced: if the Lord is with me, why  is there so much suffering? I believe that He allows it so that we react with the revolt of faith. Gideon was not a saint or a religious person, but he was chosen to lead his people to freedom because of the holy revolt he had against that situation. And this is the faith that makes a difference.

The weapons of our warfare

"For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds." 2 Corinthians 10.4
When Gideon went into combat, he did not take any weapons of war. He only had trumpets and empty pitchers with torches. But when he blew the trumpets (cried out to God) and broke the pitchers with torches (manifested a living faith in the Living God), his enemies destroyed themselves.
The weapons of faith are more powerful than the weapons of men.

The Sacrifice said

"Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.'" John 14.6

I thought the comment of Luiz Fabiano on my husband's blog to be very true: The Sacrifice said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.
This is a fact. Without sacrifice, it is impossible to reach God.

True worshiper

"But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him." John 4.23

God the Father seeks true worshipers. But how to distinguish between the true and the false worshipers? The true worshipers will worship God - the Father - in spirit and in truth. In spirit means to worship with an intelligent and balanced faith.
God is intelligence and wisdom, so why would He accept an emotion based worship?
In truth means to worship Him through His Son Jesus, The Truth.

Life by faith

"Now the just shall live by faith; but if anyone draws back, my soul has no pleasure in him.” Hebrews 10.38
The cancellation of any and all sin is only possible through faith. Not heartfelt faith, but faith practiced through obedience to the Word of God. The Lord shows this condition as the only way a person can be considered righteous before Him. However, if they go backwards, or turn away from the faith, then there will be no forgiveness, no salvation.

Fear in obedience

"And He said, 'Do not lay your hand on the lad, or do anything to him; for now I know that you fear God, since you have not withheld your son, your only son, from Me.'" Genesis 22.12
Abraham's faith had already been tried several times. He passed the tests, but when the sacrifice of his son was required, he got to his limit. His unconditional obedience proved his FEAR to the Lord God. Today, for far less, many are not able to demonstrate the least bit of FEAR IN OBEDIENCE to God's Word.

Afflictions of the righteous

"Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the LORD delivers him out of them all." Psalms 34.19
We all suffer afflictions. When the unjust suffers afflictions there is no one to deliver them. Unable to handle the pressure, some end up even killing themselves.
The righteous also suffer afflictions, but with the advantage that the Lord delivers them. For this reason, it pays to be correct, to walk in righteousness and maintain the character of God because, in spite of everything, the Lord is with all who obey Him.

Afflictions

"These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” John 16.33
There's no other way, those who want to follow the Lord Jesus cannot expect flowers in this world. There is no avoiding hardship when trying to practice the Word of God. Escaping the afflictions is like putting the cross aside, satisfying the flesh and not following the Lord Jesus. Is this what you want?

Righteousness and Judgement

"And when He has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment." John 16.8

A person convicted by the Holy Spirit recognises his sin and immediately abandons it. From that moment on, he begins to walk in righteousness. In other words, he begins to do what is right and live under the discipline of God's Kingdom. In regards to judgement, his behaviour towards others is exemplary, because he does not condemn, criticise, or judge them.
This is the Work of the Holy Spirit in the lives of those who are faithful to Him.

The letter kills

"Who also made us sufficient as ministers of the new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life." 2 Corinthians 3.6
The abundance of biblical knowledge can give a feeling of well being. If, however, this knowledge is not practiced, it only serves as a witness against you him on the Day of Judgment. The knowledge of the Word sets one free when it is practiced. By practicing it, the Spirit of God works.
Otherwise, what good is to know it? Who in this world knows the Bible better than satan?

Contrary to hope

"Who, contrary to hope, in hope believed, so that he became the father of many nations, according to what was spoken, so shall your descendants be.” Romans 4.18

When physical conditions say no, when the circumstances say no, when the voices around you and everything else say no, it is not possible... the voice of the Almighty comes, which is even contrary to the remains of hope. That was the voice that made Abraham believed against hope. This is the faith that justifies and saves.

The sheep

"My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me." John 10.27

What characterizes the relationship between shepherd and sheep is the shepherd's voice. No sheep from a certain flock follows the voice of a shepherd of another flock.
It was common that several shepherds would gather their respective flocks to drink from the same stream. But once their thirst was quenched, each sheep would follow the voice of their respective pastors.
The followers of the Good Shepherd, hear His voice and follow Him. That is, obey.

When in distress

"When you are in distress, and all these things come upon you in the latter days, when you turn to the LORD your God and obey His voice (for the LORD your God is a merciful God), He will not forsake you nor destroy you, nor forget the covenant of your fathers which He swore to them." Deuteronomy 4.30-31
In every promise there is a condition for compliance. Sometimes, because we are more emotional, we let the voice of the heart speak louder and despair at the sight of problems.
God is the Same. Just as He was in the past, He is in the present and will be in the future, forever. When we turn to Him and heed His voice, we reason, and He sustains us.

The secret to happiness

"But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does." James 1.25

It is impossible to walk in sin and be free. The spirit of sin has trapped its victims so that they cannot understand the reason for so much unhappiness.
Disorder, indiscipline and rebellion are elements of injustice that have prevented freedom. Freedom of life, of conscience... Consequently, even with the world at their feet, yet the slave of sin is unhappy.
That is why God, in creating man, also established righteous laws that, once practiced, leads to a life of freedom, peace within yourself and especially with God.

Listen

"But whoever listens to me will dwell safely, and will be secure, without fear of evil.” Proverbs 1.33
Listening means to obey. When we obey God's Word, faith is pure and does not allow room for doubts or fears of evil. That's a fact. Difficult is to use faith to obey. Difficult is to sacrifice the desires of the flesh. But who said that the road to salvation would be easy?

Saturday, November 10, 2012

Obedience and fear

"And He said, 'Do not lay your hand on the lad, or do anything to him; for now I know that you fear God, since you have not withheld your son, your only son, from Me.'" Genesis 22.12
The LORD God tested Abraham's obedience. His response showed his fear. In other words, obedience is undeniable proof of faith and fear of God.
Whoever believes in God fears and obeys His Word; but whoever does not believe does not fear Him and therefore disobeys His Word.

Righteousness

"...For a throne is established by righteousness." Proverbs 16.12
In other words, it is through obedience to the Word of God that salvation is conquered.
One thing is to conquer salvation, another thing is to remain saved. The greatest difficulty is to maintain what you conquer, especially salvation. That is why Jesus said, "If anyone wants to follow Me, let him deny himself, take up his cross and follow Me." Not only for a few days, but every day. Follow Him every day to remain saved, and establish the throne of eternal life.

A living sacrifice

"I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service." Romans 12.1
The new converts lived an unholy life because of the idolatry reigning in Rome. By the Holy Spirit, Paul exhorts them to sacrifice their immoralities in the form of a spiritual worship pleasing to God. This is the faith that pleases God and ensures the salvation of the soul.

Determination

"The Lord of hosts has sworn, saying, 'surely, as I have thought, so it shall come to pass, and as I have purposed, so it shall stand.'" Isaiah 14.24
This thought teaches a secret to those who are loyal, obedient to the voice of faith: the determination in thought.
Yes, all those who are sealed with the Holy Spirit are able to think and determine what they want to happen.

Tuesday, November 6, 2012

Do not fear

"Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand." Isaiah 41.10
Throughout the Bible we find the the advice not to fear 366 times. One for each day of the year, including the leap year. But if the Spirit of God used His servants to stimulate the fearlessness and courage as our daily bread, then let us live in this faith. He promises to be with us, strengthen us and sustain us regardless of the circumstances.

Obedience

"By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called..." Hebrews 11.8
The entire Bible is summed up in a single message: obedience. Abraham was the greatest example of this. His relationship and friendship with God were marked by his obedience. Faith is obedience.

Perfect and Just Judge

"God is a just judge, and God is angry with the wicked every day." Psalms 7.11

Right or wrong, good or bad, true or false, fake or original, sincere or feigned; pure or impure, good or evil, holy or unholy, perfect or imperfect; clean or dirty; fidelity or infidelity, correct or incorrect, with character or without character, moral or immoral.
These adjectives show the huge difference between justice and injustice.
If us, who are full of faults, are able to hate the works of darkness, the injustice, imagine the Lord, the Righteous and Perfect Judge.
Because of this, the rebels, disobedient and deceitful will not inhabit eternity with Him

Learned through suffering

"Though He was a Son, yet He learned obedience by the things which He suffered. And having been perfected, He became the author of eternal salvation to all who obey Him." Hebrews 5.8-9
As Son of Man,Jesus had to endure a lot of suffering to learn obedience. Obedience in the practice of faith, the faith that demands obedience to the voice of God. When faith is not followed by obedience to the Word of God there is no salvation.
Religious life, church attendance, or any position in church, none of this is a sign of faith. What characterizes faith is obedience, without which no man shall be saved.

Death was overcome

“O Death, where is your sting? O Hades, where is your victory?" 1 Corinthians 15.55
To those who are obedient to the Word of the Lord Jesus, death has lost its power. Rather, it is profit to those who live by faith. However, for the religious and unbelieving, it continues to terrorize them since the original sin. Even worse, filling the depths of hell.

Please!

“Then he said, ‘I beg you therefore, father, that you would send him to my father’s house, for I have five brothers, that he may testify to them, lest they also come to this place of torment.’" Luke 16.27-28
While the living on Earth visit the graves of their dead bringing flowers, lighting candles, attending Masses, offering prayers, etc.., The souls of their dead in hell beg God's servants to warn them on Earth, in order for them not end up at that place of torment.
But the biggest barrier to save them has been their own religions.

Revenge

"...in flaming fire taking vengeance on those who do not know God, and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ." 2 Thessalonians 1.8
The Divine revenge is not just against those who do not know the Lord God, but also against those who are disobedient to the Gospel of the Lord Jesus. That is, those who have occupied a church pew every week, listen and learn the teachings of Jesus and yet, still do not practice them. What good is it to have faith in Jesus but not obey His Word? Would such faith be able to save him?

Never satisfied...

"Hell and Destruction are never full; so the eyes of man are never satisfied." Proverbs 27.20
Hell, the grave and human eyes have this in common: they are never satisfied. Hell and the grave are facts to those already there. But for the living, the worst are the eyes, which, if left unsupervised, will lead to hell.

Righteousness

"You shall follow what is altogether just, that you may live and inherit the land which the Lord your God is giving you." Deuteronomy 16.20
There is no other way. Whosoever wants to save their soul and inherit the Kingdom of Heaven must walk in righteousness. God is not only Righteous but also He also hates unrighteousness. Any sin, no matter how small, is a clear manifestation of unrighteousness, and they are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. (Galatians 5.19-21)

Witness

"But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” Acts 1.8

Nobody needs to receive the Holy Spirit to be healed, delivered from evil or to be prosperous. These miracles are natural wonders of faith in Jesus.
But to an "eyewitness" of His resurrection, a new creature and to possess His character, only by receiving the baptism of the Holy Spirit can you achieve that. He is the One who maintains our salvation until death.

Infirmities

"Surely He has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; yet we esteemed Him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted." Isaiah 53.4
Those who know the Bible knows that the Lord Jesus has already taken all of  our infirmities and diseases. However, few are those who know how to take possession of this right. To accept it and take it without any fear or concern for medical examinations is a matter of faith that has nothing to do with the senses.

Sincere conversion

"For thus says the Lord God, the Holy One of Israel: 'In returning and rest you shall be saved; in quietness and confidence shall be your strength...'” Isaiah 30.15
Sin does not allow the heart to settle down. Only sincere conversion brings inner peace. Peace with yourself and especially with the Spirit of God. It is the tranquility that money, the glory or the power of this world cannot give. This is the force that keeps the confidence of salvation renewed.

Sincere heart

"Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water." Hebrews 10.22
The Spirit of God weighs the heart and knows when it is pure and sincere or not. Because of this, David reached mercy before God. He found true repentance to reach salvation.

Daily faith

"Now the just shall live by faith; but if anyone draws back, My soul has no pleasure in him." Hebrews 10.38
Supernatural faith is an absolute certainty that comes from above. It's more important than our daily bread, and we depend on it as much as we depend on the air we breathe. We have to breathe it in, and exercise it every second so we do not become weak. It is the energy of God, the breath of God, the power of God in us to protect our salvation.

Good eyes

"The lamp of the body is the eye. If therefore your eye is good, your whole body will be full of light." Matthew 6.22
Regardless of whether you are empty or full of the Spirit of God, all human beings have strengths and weaknesses. The difference is that those who are filled with the Holy Spirit only focus on other people's virtues, that is, their eyes are good. This is the vision of God. And whoever has the Spirit of God has this same vision.

You can expect that

"His brothers therefore said to Him, 'Depart from here and go into Judea, that Your disciples also may see the works that You are doing. For no one does anything in secret while he himself seeks to be known openly. If You do these things, show Yourself to the world.' For even His brothers did not believe in Him. Then Jesus said to them, 'My time has not yet come...'" John 7.3-6
When you make a difference, you can expect people to judge you, thinking that you are an attention seeker, just like Jesus' brothers. Do not let other people's negative way of seeing things prevent you from doing what God has put in your heart to do.

Death in the pot

"So one went out into the field to gather herbs, and found a wild vine, and gathered from it a lapful of wild gourds, and came and sliced them into the pot of stew, though they did not know what they were. Then they served it to the men to eat. Now it happened, as they were eating the stew, that they cried out and said, 'Man of God, there is death in the pot!' And they could not eat it. So he said, 'Then bring some flour.' And he put it into the pot, and said, 'Serve it to the people, that they may eat.' And there was nothing harmful in the pot." 2 Kings 4.39-41
The wild vine is showy, draws attention and looks good for consumption. So is the novel  "Saint Jorge" (Brazilian soap opera), whose appeal is to entertain. But in the end, is poisonous because it conveys the spirit of idolatry. It is certain death. Anything that contradicts the Word of God kills.
But whatever promotes living faith in the Living God produces life. Jesus is the Bread of Life, the "flour" that neutralizes the death in the family pot.

Spirit of the Lord

"And the Spirit of the Lord came mightily upon him, and he tore the lion apart as one would have torn apart a young goat, though he had nothing in his hand. But he did not tell his father or his mother what he had done." Judges 14.6

When the Spirit of God takes possession of someone, it is impossible not to overcome the difficulties of each day.
Give him freedom to invade your being, to dwell in your body, and you will see the difference. What the Spirit of the LORD did in the past, He does today.

Dominion of sin

"For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace." Romans 6.14
Behind sin there is always a spirit. In fact, sin is an evil spirit. Tho who live in faith in the Lord Jesus are not hostage to the spirit of sin. But those who live a farce of faith, then yes, they become slaves to sin. They are the ones who usually say: I can not overcome my desires, my flesh, my sins ...

Kicks

“But Jeshurun grew fat and kicked; you grew fat, you grew thick, you are obese! Then he forsook God who made him, and scornfully esteemed the Rock of his salvation." Deuteronomy 32.15

Kicks are a form of self-defense of horses, donkeys and large quadrupeds. But the kick in this context refers to the ungrateful, to those who have been freed from their dungeons, but then turned away ...
Many came to the UCKG one day in critical condition. And after being freed from their ailments, they turned their backs and joined the persecutors of the Universal Church.

Powerful Word

"For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart." Hebrews 4.12

It's the only word capable of generating power to create, save and transform any human being. God does not require perfection, holiness, purity or any other virtue. Only a vote of confidence that He will do everything He promised to do. Those who propose themselves to believe in it will have the Personal Answer from the Almighty.

The Work of God

"He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil." 1 John 3.8
The work of God is to destroy the devil's work. To do this, we must be able to confront Hell. Only those who are sealed, anointed with the Holy Spirit, are able to do so. If a Christian says he is baptized with the Holy Spirit but he is not, in the confrontation with hell, he loses. This is the reason why many have fallen in faith ...

Shipwreck of faith

"...having faith and a good conscience, which some having rejected, concerning the faith have suffered shipwreck." 1 Timothy 1.19
A good conscience is fundamental in maintaining the faith. Many have sunk in faith because they have neglected striving to have a good conscience. A clear conscience generates peace with yourself and above all, with God.

Life by faith

"Now the just shall live by faith; But if anyone draws back, my soul has no pleasure in him.” Hebrews 10.38
Pure conscience is the good ground ready to receive the seed. The Word of God sown in this land produces pure faith. A faith that pleases God, that grants forgiveness to the greatest sinner so that he can become a partner of the Creator.

Conscience

"How forceful are right words! But what does your arguing prove?" Job 6.25
The words of a friend accompanied with Spirit edifies and comforts the soul. However, the conscience must be humble take heed of the Voice of God.

Discipline

"Now no chastening seems to be joyful for the present, but painful; nevertheless, afterward it yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it." Hebrews 12.11
The proud sons of the devil, hate discipline. But the humble sons of the Spirit, love to be corrected because most consider it a learning experience.
"Faithful are the wounds of a friend, but the kisses of an enemy are deceitful." Proverbs 27.6

Covenant

“And I will establish My covenant between Me and you and your descendants after you in their generations, for an everlasting covenant, to be God to you and your descendants after you." Genesis 17.4
Covenant, pact, marriage or accepting Jesus as Lord and Savior involves mutual commitment between creature and Creator. It is all about sacrifice from both parties. Jesus sacrificed and is still sacrificing as He endures our imperfections. From our part, the sacrifice is to surrender our will to do His. This agreement allows Him to be our Lord and God for all eternity.

Sincerely

"For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also." Matthew 6.21

Treasure means what is most important for each one of us. It is the center of life. Who or what has been your greatest treasure in the whole world? Family? Profession? Assets? Boyfriend Fiancé? Bank account? Car? Religion? You?
Who would you, SINCERELY and HONESTLY, give up your own life for?
Your answer indicates where your heart is.
