The Word

"For there are three that bear witness in heaven: the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit; and these three are one." 1 John 5.7
Jesus is the Word. His disciples take his word as a rule of life, behavior and character. If there are no such provisions in Christian conduct it is because that person has nothing to do with Jesus. They are simply chaff.

Weed

"But while everyone was sleeping, his enemy came and sowed weeds among the wheat, and went away." Matthew 13.25

While the children of light sleep and get distracted, the devil sows his children in their midst to corrupt them and draw them back to darkness, whether it is through dating, marriage or any other form of partnerships.
Those who are wise are careful not to get involved with the children of darkness under any circumstances.

If...

"For if we died with Him, w
e shall also live with Him. If we endure,
We shall also reign with Him. If we deny Him, He also will deny us." 2 Timothy 2.11-12
We will live with Jesus IF we died with Him.
We will reign with Him IF we persevere. IF we deny Him, He will deny us.
In other words, the victory over death is conditioned by the attitudes of sacrificial faith: to die, to persevere and not to deny the Lord Jesus Christ.

Unequally yoked

"Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness?" 2 Corinthians 6.14
Many Christians live with unnecessary conflicts. This is because they try to reconcile the light of faith without feelings to the mundane faith. They insist on trying to induce a "chemistry" between light and darkness. If it were possible, the above would not have been written and addressed to the faithful.

We are hated

"If you were of the world, the world would love its own. Yet because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you." John 15.19
We cannot be surprised by the world's hatred for us. This is part of the Christian faith. We should find it strange if the world loved us. In this case, it would show we have nothing to do with our Lord Jesus Christ.

Show me the way

"In the morning let me hear about your faithful love, because I've put my trust in you. Show me the way I should live, because I pray to you." Psalm 143.8

No matter how simple the words of a prayer might be, when there is sincerity, sooner or later, the answer comes.

Small, but unshakable

"...For assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you." Matthew 17.20
God does not demand of us anything that we cannot do. Jesus teaches that the secret of faith is not in its size. For us to do great things, faith must be pure.

Faith and works

"What does it profit, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can faith save him?" James 2.14

Salvation comes by faith.
But what is the kind of faith that brings salvation and the kind that does not?
Faith that is accompanied by attitudes, actions and sacrifices is the faith that saves. How can a person live by faith in Jesus without having to sacrifice their own will?
But the faith that does not save is like that of the demons. They believe in God, yet they are still demons. See this in James 2.19.

Dead faith

"For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also." James 2.26

The text leaves no doubt: faith without works is dead, hopeless. And what has been impeding people from taking actions of faith?
The feelings of their hearts.
These feelings are hindering people from the sacrifice that brings results.

Our all in exchange for His fullness

"...to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God." Ephesians 3.19
The Lord Jesus promised His faithful followers the fullness of His Spirit. Have you ever imagined yourself being filled with the Holy Spirit just as the Lord Jesus was?
Yes...
But for this to happen, He also demands your all.
It is your all in exchange for His fullness.

Great pride

"Say to the house of Israel, 'Thus says the Lord GOD: Behold, I will profane my sanctuary, the pride of your power, the delight of your eyes, and the yearning of your soul, and your sons and your daughters whom you left behind shall fall by the sword.'" Ezekiel 24.21

The Temple of Solomon was reduced to ashes and, in its place, the temple of Muhammad was erected. So the prophecy to the people who had once been the glory of the Lord was fulfilled. Why?
Because of pride.
Pride is the reason why many people fall. Especially those who once belonged to God.

Perverse heart

“The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked; who can know it?" Jeremiah 17.9

Even though it is known that the heart is wicked, misleading, corrupt and a faithful ally to the devil, still, its feelings, emotions, pleas and cries are heard and heeded.
Why?
Because those who have it like that are not yet born of the Holy Spirit.

Flesh vs. Spirit

"For the mind set on the flesh is death, but the mind set on the Spirit is life and peace" Romans 8.6

To lean onto the flesh means fulfilling the desires of the heart, which is the source of misleading and prohibited feelings.
To lean onto the Spirit is to deny the feelings of the heart and practicing the discipline of faith.
The flesh hates discipline, order, justice, Bible, Law, fear of God, perseverance, Commandments, and everything else that pertains to spiritual values and that are contrary to the emotions of the heart.

Persevere

"But he who endures to the end shall be saved." Matthew 24.13

Certainly, perseverance has not been the strongest trait of the majority. However, there is no other alternative to achieve the salvation of the soul.
Why?
Because the devil perseveres in his quest of getting back the souls he lost. And whoever is more perseverant wins. Those who get discouraged lose.
That is why Jesus exhorts us to persevere to the end.

Spiritual weapons

"For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds" 2 Corinthians 10.4

Non carnal weapons means spiritual weapons.
And why spiritual weapons?
Because if our war is against the spiritual forces of evil, how to overcome them if we do not have spiritual weapons?
And how could we possess spiritual weapons if we are not spiritual?
And how to be spiritual if we are not born of the Spirit?

Prophetic cry

“And at midnight a cry was heard: ‘Behold, the bridegroom is coming; go out to meet him!’" Matthew 25.6
The prophetic cry has been echoed around the world. But who will listen? There are virgins waiting for the Bridegroom and virgins corrupting themselves with other boyfriends. Time is near, the faithful virgins know this and are prepared. The unfaithful, however, enjoy life with the delay of the Bridegroom.

Which is greater?

"Fools and blind! For which is greater, the gold or the temple that sanctifies the gold?" Matthew 23.17

The question of Jesus to the hypocrites of that time serves us well nowadays. The offering is not more important than the One who receives it and sanctifies it. The sacrifice of Isaac, was not more important than the obedience of his father. God sees the faith, the spirit that moves the heart of the offering giver.

Truly

“I have heard of You by the hearing of the ear,But now my eye sees You." Job 42.5

One thing is to be aware of His existence, to be certain of His compassion and Greatness. This is very important.
But still, it does not satisfy the yearnings of the soul. We must know Him personally.
This is the mission of the Holy Spirit to those who TRULY want to know Him.

Children of Abraham?

"They answered and said to Him, 'Abraham is our father.' Jesus said to them, 'If you were Abraham’s children, you would do the works of Abraham.'" John 8.39

The children of Abraham do the works of Abraham. Those who make excuses to avoid Abraham's example of sacrificial obedience have nothing to do with him.
In other words, Jesus is saying that anyone who does not imitate Abraham is not his child in faith.

Limited by the heart

"You are not restricted by us, but you are restricted by your own affections." 2 Corinthians 6.12

Most people have been limited by the feelings of the deceiving heart. Faith gets stuck in time and gets old...
That is why one needs to be born of the Spirit and become a new creature. A spiritual creature who does not walk by visible things, but by the invisible, which are eternal.

Always in faith

"But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind." James 1.6
To ask in faith is not asking with a feeling of certainty. To ask in faith means leaving your needs in God's hands because of what He promised.

Have faith in God

"So Jesus answered and said to them, “Have faith in God." Mark 11.22

Jesus demands of His followers to have faith in God. If faith were a feeling of the heart, how to make one "feel" the faith in God? Impossible. Jesus does not demand anything impossible from His disciples. This requirement from the Lord is concerning the faith-obedience or practice of the Word of God and nothing else.

The teaching

"Let the righteous strike me; it shall be a kindness. And let him rebuke me; it shall be as excellent oil; let my head not refuse it." Psalm 141.5
When reprimanded, those who are born of the Spirit consider the teaching, learn and give thanks to God. But those who are born of the flesh, the tares, get angry, feel like they have to defend themselves and still hold grudges.

The cry of the believer

"Let the groaning of the prisoner come before You; according to the greatness of Your power, preserve those who are appointed to die." Psalm 79.11
This groaning is not by just anyone, but someone who believes in the promises of the God of Abraham, and yet is a captive. Times have changed but the moaning continues...
O Mighty One of Jacob, rise up from Your Throne and come to the rescue of those who who put their trust in You!

God and Abraham

"Look to Abraham your father, And to Sarah who bore you;For I called him alone, and blessed him and increased him.” Isaiah 51.2
Abraham symbolizes the Lord God, Isaac symbolizes Jesus and the spirit - or faith - that moved Abraham to sacrifice his dream was the Spirit of God. Nobody in their right mind would subject themselves to obey the Word of God unconditionally, without being moved by the Holy Spirit.

Answer

"I will stand upon my watch, and set me upon the tower, and will look forth to see what he will speak with me, and what I shall answer concerning my complaint." Habakkuk 2.1

We have to be filled with that spirit in order to take possession of our rights. If God exists, as we believe, why would we accept any less than His Promises?

Make haste

“Therefore do my thoughts cause me to answer, and for this I make haste." Job 20.2

If faith in the Lord Jesus tells us He won it all for us, consequently, when we act our faith with attitudes, the response to what we have been crying out for must be immediate.

Revolt

“Even today my complaint is bitter; my hand is listless because of my groaning." Job 23.2

When rights are not acquired, revolt is ignited. Those who belong to God cannot wait till death for the fulfillment of His promises. Either they are they are true or false. If they are true, as we believe, then they must come to pass from now on! This faith is the faith we assumed.

The just vs. The wicked

"He who walks with integrity walks securely, but he who perverts his ways will become known." Proverbs 10.9
The just lives in tranquility and peace because his conscience does not accuse him of anything. The same does not happen to those living in sin. Their sinful conscience accuses them all the time and does not allow them to have peace.

The highways

"Blessed is the man whose strength is in You, in whose heart are the highways..." Psalm 84.5
The strength and success of a man is in his partnership with the God of Abraham. His heart does not fear when he sees the problems. He is happy in everything he does.

Sacrifices

“Has the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, As in obeying the voice of the LORDBehold, to obey is better than sacrifice, And to heed than the fat of rams." 1 Samuel 15.22

The offering of material goods without obedience to God's Word does not work. What good would it be if a prostitute, for example, offers one month worth of her gain but keeps selling her body? Would the Lord God accept such an offering?

The offering is something spontaneous from the soul that expresses sincere love. But the sacrifice involves total surrender of body, soul and spirit. It sacrifices body and soul. There is no reservation on the sacrifice. Saul sacrificed the body of an animal, but did not sacrifice his will in order to do God's will.
