To supplement faith with virtue means making it a habit to do good, avoid evil and be righteous. That is how those who are born of God live.

FAITH SUPPLEMENT - 1
"For this very reason, make every effort to supplement your faith with virtue, and virtue with knowledge,and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with steadfastness, and steadfastness with godliness, and godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love." 2 Peter 1:5-7

faith have no connection with the way of the world. to assure our salvation we must always have our heart pure and be steadfast in our faith
