"But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His." Romans 8:9
When passions of the flesh are abandoned, doors are opened for the Holy Spirit to bear a new creature in you. Once you're born of God, you have His DNA -- that's when you begin to think and behave like Him.

Not belonging to God will impede me of enjoying a life as His child, even considering myself a Christian, and worst of all I will be risking my eternal life without God's presence. We cannot afford it.
