"He did not take away the pillar of cloud by day or the pillar of fire by night from before the people." Exodus 13:22
The pillar of cloud followed the Children of Israel in the desert. This was the Holy Spirit. Today, He lives inside each Christian sealed by His Son.
And in the same way that God looked after the Israelites, providing them with guidance and protection through the cloud and pillar of fire, today He gives us His Spirit to guide us, to protect us from the arrows of the devil and to empower us to be His witnesses throughout the earth. He is a caring Father.
ReplyDeleteThis passage reveals to me the care of the Holy Spirit, the little details of our lives He pays attention to and takes care of. His plan and action is so perfect. At night, when the desert was the coldest, He provided fire, to warm them up. During the day, when the desert was hottest, He provided a cloud to cool them off. He knew what they needed, when they needed it. That is the value of the Holy Spirit. He is the Helper that provides what we need when we need it. He takes care of every small detail, He misses nothing. I love having the Holy Spirit, He is the Perfect Friend - One Who never disappoints!
ReplyDeleteThe cloud by day, a shade from the hot dessert heat and a pillar of fire by night, for light to see and also warmth as the temperature plummets in the desserts. No matter the situation surrounding us when we have the Holy Spirit we are more than equipped to overcome.
