"Adulterers and adulteresses! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God." James 4.4The Holy Spirit considers all those who are friends with the world to be unfaithful. They are much more than unfaithful, they are considered as enemies of God, just as the devil and his demons.

Hi Mrs.Esther! If we want to be a friend of God we must not be friend of this world. To be friend of God is by being Obedient to His word.

ReplyDeleteEster, are we condemned to stay the same? if we believe that the hearts of men cannot change for the glory of God, why do we bother evangelising? We go to snatch the ignorant from the flames and this is one of our greatest joys. but when people know they are in danger and put others in the same danger don't they? and if a dog goes to drink milk and gets kicked on two occasions, will he try and drink again in that place? which time will be the time that destroys him completely?

one thing i have learnt is that one cannot please people and God at the same time or the devil and God. Either you are with God wholeheartedly or not. When we become friends with the world , little by little we get corrupted in speech, thoughts and behavior because we adapt their behaviour. The same with God when we are with Him we adapt His behaviour. Darkness and light cannot mix either one stays and the other one goes, a house cannot be dark and bright at the same time.
