The servant

“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven." Matthew 7.21

The service of a servant is not limited only to some miraculous deeds in the name of Jesus. For what good is to perform miracles but do not obey the Word of God?
What really matters is not to do but to be.
Nobody is a servant by half. Either he is a servant in full or he is not.

  1. Dear Mrs Ester,
I was reading your blog about The Servant and it has made me realise that sometimes we misunderstand the true meaning of being a servant. If we claim to be saving God and yet disobey his word, even our service is in vain. What is the point of saving others and yet end up loosing your soul through disobedience? This is food for thought for me.

  2. A servant obeys the voice of their master and this is also the same with the servant of God, if we dont listen to what He says then we are not a servant because we are disobeying.

  3. I remember what I learned from the book "The Footsteps of Jesus" which I can relate to this verse... Who we become is more important than what we do. In other words, possessing the fruit of the Holy Spirit, like patience, goodness, and love, is more important than the gift of the Holy Spirit, like performing miracles or prophecy.

  4. A servant of God isn't an assistant, a helper, a CBC leader, patient care leader, pastor etc. A servant isn't a title that is given to you by man but a servant is who you are inside, it's something that goes with you wherever you are it's Those who obey God's voice wherever they are..not just in church where people can see but even in those places where no one can see you. That's what I need to be all the time not part time. God doesn't accept part time servants.

  5. It really reminds me of the other word in the bible, let your yes be yes and no be no. In the same way we have to decide if we are Gods servant/ child or not.

  7. Today I have learnt that it is not enough to do things in the church I be. Meaning I must do and be to serve and obey the word of God. I can not do one well and the other neglect. It is all for all.

  8. It is so easy to be consumed with the works of God that you forget to have a relationship with God. It's not wrong to do the work God but many do not put much time and effort in seeking Gods presence.

When we invest in seeking in Go, we receive his fruits which makes us have a connection with him. He learn how to be a true servant which will be pleasing to God.

Thank you Mrs Ester for this message.
