Genesis 22.12Abraham's faith had already been tried several times. He passed the tests, but when the sacrifice of his son was required, he got to his limit. His unconditional obedience proved his FEAR to the Lord God. Today, for far less, many are not able to demonstrate the least bit of FEAR IN OBEDIENCE to God's Word.

ReplyDeleteThis verse shows us that God could only prove that we fear Him when we obey what He told us to do up to the point of sacrificing what is impossible for us to sacrifice - family, dreams and career, for the sake of showing God that we love Him. Saying that we fear God or we believe in God, without obedience means nothing. If Abraham withheld Isaac, it would only mean that his fear to lose his son was greater than his fear to obey God, and Abraham would not be blessed.

ReplyDeleteWhen we lack fear in our obedience, we somehow prove that we do not have a healthy relationship with God because the most important thing for the children of God is the fear of God,this reminds me of what Moses told the Israelites, he said the fear of the Lord will stop you from sinning so it shows that when we do not fear God we automatically disobey him and that is sin before God.
