The letter kills

"Who also made us sufficient as ministers of the new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life." 2 Corinthians 3.6
The abundance of biblical knowledge can give a feeling of well being. If, however, this knowledge is not practiced, it only serves as a witness against you him on the Day of Judgment. The knowledge of the Word sets one free when it is practiced. By practicing it, the Spirit of God works.
Otherwise, what good is to know it? Who in this world knows the Bible better than satan?

  1. Dear Mrs Ester,

God in this verse makes it clear that only know the word does not help, it has to be practiced day after day . for salvation of our soul.
    Thank you.

It is not enough that we only know the Bible, we must do. When I learned to put into practice the Word of God, I was set free from my sufferings, my life started changing and I was transformed by God. I prefer to know only few in the Bible but truly understand and practice them daily than memorizing it from cover to cover and word per word but God's power does not manifest in my life. If we practice the Word of God, His Spirit gives us life and salvation.

    Thank you Mrs. Ester!

  4. Thank you or sharing Mrs.Esther :)I must not only read or hear the word of God but put it also into practice, because if I will just read or hear it it's just in vain and I will not be bless because of that! Kisses!

  5. Very True, Mrs. Ester. There is a big difference between knowing the bible, reading it like a regular book AND Practicing everything you read. Anyone could read the bible, but not everyone has the courage and faith to practice it. Like my life experience, i use to also just know the bible. I thought that by reading it daily God will some how bless me, but i never saw a change in my life, until the moment that i decided to put everything i read in to practice. After doing so i felt like if all my life made a whole entire 360 circle to a brand new life.

  6. Hi Mrs.Ester,

It's true that, when we put in practice the Word of God, the Spirit of God works... God's promises will manifest in our lives. Many can read and understand what is written, but few have the willingness to obey and show it with their actions, and those who are obedient will receive the best from God.
    Thank You!
