Repentance

"Repent, or else I will come to you quickly and will fight against them with the sword of My mouth." Revelation 2.16
Contrary to feelings like remorse, repentance has to do with intelligent actions or attitudes of obedience. First, acknowledge your sin, then hate it and, finally, abandon it permanently.

The way to salvation

"If disaster comes upon us—sword, judgment, pestilence, or famine—we will stand before this temple and in Your presence (for Your name is in this temple), and cry out to You in our affliction, and You will hear and save." 2 Chronicles 20.9

The Temple of the Lord is the Church where the name in evidence is that of the Lord Jesus Christ. It is the place where we will all cry out in one faith, one spirit and one heart, and He will hear us and deliver us. It happened to Jehoshaphat and his entire kingdom, including their wives and children.
And the answer came immediately, saying: the battle is not yours but of the Lord your God.

Humility vs. Pride

"The fear of the Lord is the instruction of wisdom, and before honor is humility." Proverbs 15.33
The main characteristic of those who are born of the Spirit is humility. It was the remarkable nature of the character of the Lord Jesus on Earth, and it could not be different from that of His followers.
But the characteristic of the children of the devil is pride, the mark of Cain and his descendants.

Fear

"Then some came and told Jehoshaphat, saying, 'A great multitude is coming against you from beyond the sea, from Syria; and they are in Hazazon Tamar' (which is En Gedi). And Jehoshaphat feared, and set himself to seek the Lord, and proclaimed a fast throughout all Judah."  2 Chronicles 20.2-3
The devil works with a threatening word, to spread fear, and especially terror. He does not usually use the opponents as much as he does the people who are closest to us. That's right. He often uses those in which we trust most. However it may be, as the example of Jehoshaphat, when terror comes, start seeking the Lord and fasting immediately. The spirit of fear does not stand.

Humility

"For we have no power against this great multitude that is coming against us; nor do we know what to do, but our eyes are upon You.” 2 Chronicles 20.12
As much as our problems may seem serious, urgent and insoluble, the Altar is the place where you can reach the answer. In the prayer of Jehoshaphat we find the humility that moves the Almighty and brings an immediate answer.

A thorn in the flesh

"And lest I should be exalted above measure by the abundance of the revelations, a thorn in the flesh was given to me, a messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I be exalted above measure." 2 Corinthians 12.7
The Work of God, or the destruction of the works of satan, demands total selflessness. And the greater the revelations of the Spirit, more humility is required. It is not known exactly what kind of thorn in the flesh Paul had. But surely, God allowed him to stay protected from pride.

Cry aloud, spare not!

“As for Me, says the Lord, this is My covenant with them: My Spirit who is upon you, and My words which I have put in your mouth, shall not depart from your mouth, nor from the mouth of your descendants, nor from the mouth of your descendants’ descendants, says the Lord, from this time and forevermore.” Isaiah 59.21
How wonderful is it to be assured that the Lord keeps His covenant with us. To know that  His Spirit is in us, His Word is in our mouths and that all this is extended to our generations forever. I bring this word upon my life and also transfer it to you, the followers of this blog. Be blessed by this word!
