The outward Man

“Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day.” 2 Corinthians 4.16

The perishing of the outward man cannot suffocate the inward one. When faith is rational, it seeks resources in the Word of God to overcome the weaknesses of the outward man. Sincere confession, repentance, rejection of the past, firmness in the Divine promises, well, there is a long list of the resources of faith that destroy the weaknesses of the outward man.
However, if faith is emotional, it will try to FEEL something in order to recover. In this case, it will continue to be down.

To those who yearn

“For the oppression of the poor, for the sighing of the needy, now I will arise, says the LORD; I will set him in the safety for which he yearns. Psalm 12:5

The oppression of the poor and the sighing of the needy have always called God’s attention. However He can only come to their rescue when they call upon Him. Salvation is for those who consider themselves lost. To these, the Lord promises deliverance NOW.

This I know

“When I cry out to You, then my enemies will turn back; this I know, because God is for me.” Psalm 56:9

What makes the difference in the Christian life is that some KNOW, while others FEEL. David KNEW that the day he cried out to God, his enemies would turn back. Paul KNEW in WHOM he believed…
Unfortunately, the majority prefers to live based on what they FEEL or don’t feel.

Who’s right?

“Let us search out and examine our ways, and turn back to the LORD.” Lamentations 3:40

When we see ourselves in situations where the heart wants to DICTATE what we should do, we need to resist and rebuke it. Appeal to our reason; go with our reason, for intelligent faith proceeds from reason, which is the channel to access the Throne of God.

Troubled Soul

"See, O LORD, that I am in distress; my soul is troubled; my heart is overturned within me, for I have been very rebellious." Lamentations 1:20

There’s no way around it! Whatever a man sows, he shall reap. So how do you change the current painful situation sown in the past? By sacrificing. The only way is to unconditionally surrender your life to the Holy Spirit and walk away from sin once and for all.

There’s still time

“And I gave her time to repent of her sexual immorality, and she did not repent.” Revelation 2:21

The voice of the Holy Spirit calls to repentance those who are living in sin.
There’s still time to start over.
Repentance is not a feeling. It’s an attitude, it’s a decision, it’s courage to turn from sin once and for all and return to the practice of faith. Each person is convicted by the Holy Spirit if he is living or not in sin.

Rescued

"Deliver me in Your righteousness, and cause me to escape; incline Your ear to me, and save me." Psalm 71:2

Not all afflicted are humble in spirit. But when they manifest their dependence on the Lord Jesus, their cry reach the Throne of the Most High and there is salvation. The justice of the Lord, sooner or later will be manifested in the life of those who call upon Him in sincerity.
