"The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly." John 10.10
The more abundant life promised by the Lord Jesus only happens when one enters the Kingdom of God. People can even succeed, have material comfort and self-indulgence, however, life in all its fullness is only possible when one lives under the wings of the Almighty. For how is would be possible to live in fullness of life, be covered with gold and precious stones, if the interior is mortally ill?
"'No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue which rises against you in judgment you shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is from Me,' says the Lord." Isaiah 54.17
The promises of God are magnificent. All enjoy and memorize, but none of them fall from the sky like rain. Those who want to take possession of them have to pay the price. The verse above guarantees that every weapon formed AGAINST HIS SERVANTS will not prosper. Servant is the one who serves, who devotes his entire life, sacrificing their desires for his Lord.
"No man shall be able to stand before you all the days of your life; as I was with Moses, so I will be with you. I will not leave you nor forsake you." Joshua 1.5
This same promise was also made to Abraham, Isaac, Israel and Moses. Now it was Joshua's time. In every age, the chosen of the Lord are assured of His constant presence. There is no jewel or treasure in the entire universe that can be more precious than this. His presence has been with all those who are with Him. But those who despise Him are lightly esteemed.
"And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist." Colossians 1.17
It is painful know of people who, until recently, seemed to be firm in their faith and are now fallen. I was wondering, why Lord? His response was immediate: Those who really are in Jesus do not remain for a time only, but for eternity. Those who were in the faith and have fallen is because they were never in Jesus in the first place. Because neither life, nor death, nor the world, or family problems, or sickness, or disease, or loved ones, that is, nothing in this world has the power to separate those who are in Christ Jesus our Lord.
"He who is unjust, let him be unjust still; he who is filthy, let him be filthy still; he who is righteous, let him be righteous still; he who is holy, let him be holy still. And behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to every one according to his work.” Revelation 22.11-12
Patience is not a virtue of all, but it is part of the character of the Almighty. When we see the social and spiritual injustices running at the speed of sound we ask ourselves: how long Lord? His apocalyptic answer comforts the righteous and warns the unrighteous: I AM COMING QUICKLY...
"Let a righteous man strike me—that is a kindness; let him rebuke me—that is oil on my head. My head will not refuse it, for my prayer will still be against the deeds of evildoers." Psalm 141.5
A righteous person teaches and those who are also righteous learn. For them, although the learning process may be painful or feel like an act of injustice, they know it is for their own good and accept it with gratitude.
But it is not so with the wicked, that is, those who are born of the flesh. They feel it as injustice, complain, get hurt, angry, do not accept it and even want revenge. But it is only natural, after all, the darkness hates the works of the light.
"Nevertheless I have this against you, that you have left your first love." Revelation 2.4
The leaving of the first love happens when there is an exchange for another love. What good is for a husband to provide comfortable living, jewelry, luxury and money but to be absent to his wife? The same is with those who give the best of themselves in the church but, at their hearts, Jesus no longer occupies the first place.
