COME UPON YOU

"And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you because you obey the voice of the Lord your God."    Deuteronomy 28.2
Those who are obedient do not worry about when their dreams will come true. Their mind is simply focused on being obedient. This is because the Word of God promises that blessings will come upon them and overtake them.
This means that those who are obedient do not run around chasing their dreams, their dreams chase after them.

  1. From this post I can see that if I trust and obey God I won't need to worry about anything, He will take care of all my needs.

  2. Aren't the promises of God wonderful!! For me obedience = confidence, if you obey his word by doing your part the chances of failure are close to nil. Our God is faithful and will always remember the promises He made to those who are faithful to Him!

  3. I understand that if we want to overtake God's blessings we must be obedient in His words. In order for us to get the blessing we must sacrifice. What is to sacrifice? to obey His words. Sometimes obeying His words can make us feel pain but afterwards we will see the results.

  4. Sometime we worry and focus too much on the insignificant things and loose track of what’s really important. It’s true that God never fails and always keeps His promises. Obedience and trust is what God asks from us, and the rest He will take care of.

  5. That is so true Mrs Ester! And my favorite word in this verse is 'overtake', the blessings of God will not only come upon those who obey, but they will OVERTAKE them! It is very strong!

  7. This is very stong Mrs Ester, imagine the blessing of God running after you!Sometimes i have fear and douts more especially when it comes to giving my tithe thinking that it would not work, but now i have already taken the decision to obey the word of God and honor Him with my first fruits, and i strongly believe that He will pour out His blessings upon my life.

  12. I thank the Lord for teaching me that obedience is a lot more than perfoming deeds or doing things according to the law just because that is what is required of you. Obedience is established internally, its root should be love for God and real fear for Him, not fear of going to hell or fear of the consequences of disobedience. It should not also be focused on the blessings that come as a result of obedience but It should be because of who HE is, let NOT our aim be to gain, but let's our aim be just to worship Him and for His glory. Amen.
