Tough work

"For He whom God has sent speaks the words of God, for God does not give the Spirit by measure." John 3.34

Imagine the joy of achieving the greatest and most important dream of your life. Now, imagine the sacrifice you made in order to achieve it. This is it...
To make His dream of dwelling in us come through, God had to send and sacrifice Jesus, His Dream, to wash us and cleanse us. Only then could He send His Spirit.
Jesus had to do the "tough work" so that we can be possessed by the Spirit.
And what have you been doing to match such a great sacrifice?
The Daniel Fasting of Daniel is not for the curious or adventurous.

  1. Dear Mrs Ester,

I have been asking myself the same question, what have I been doing to really show God how grateful I am, and how can I honour Him after all that He has done for me? The answer is obey and take action. I need to act, if God had never taken action I would be lost.

    Thank you for this message.

  2. Yes Mrs Ester, the fast of Daniel is not for those who dream while sleeping , but for those who believe in the promise from our Lord Jesus , now it depends on each one of us how to conquer this living water that the front gates of heaven is open ready to rain on those who have already prepared the field .
    Thank you Mrs Ester

  3. The fast of Daniel is for those who truly thirst for His Spirit. Only through sacrifice can we achieve great blessings, and the greatest blessing of all: The Holy Spirit.

    God bless.

  4. Mrs Ester,
The Fast of Daniel must be seen as an essential opportunity for all of us who know of God's greatness, it is the opportunity for us to demonstrate through action what God means to us and what we are willing to leave behind in order to please Him. All this for the love that we have for Him, because God demonstrated not through words but through actions His love for us, and so this fast must be seen as the biggest blessing of all, it is the fast that will seal us all with God's Spirit.

  5. I was thinking, why do we keep having the fast of Daniel? God revealed to me that this world has so much going on, people are so self absorbed in their own lives that God is not even in focus anymore & it's so easy for me to do the same. God keeps reminding me that I must discipline my flesh to seek more of Him; to put Him above all! The more I make these scarfices to put Him first, the more He will give of Himself to me & there is no measure to how much of His Spitit I can receive; it's down to me to want & act! Kisses to you mrs Ester.

  6. Thank you Mrs Ester, I was thinking in the same line as your message yesterday when I was preparing for the fast. I thought of something more to give up during this fasting and the things that came to my mind were kind of hard to put aside for the next 21 days. I then thought that what I want from God is priceless and it is more than a few days of physical sacrifice.

Thank you and many God continue to bless you.

  8. Dear Mrs Ester,
I am so happy for this latest "Fast of Daniel." Even though I have always taken part in the others, God has revealed a new urgency to me regarding the importance of this fast when I was on the pilgrimage to Israel. I was so glad when the pastor announced that we were about to start a new fast. For me it is like a life-saver!

  9. We will never be able to match the great level of sacrifice that Jesus gave for us to be honest, but that is why we must strive everyday to at least reach it somehow. Because when we do that we'd be giving our sweat and blood in a sense, and we'd be doing everything to make sure we're living a life that is worthy enough for God to live in.

  10. The sacrifice that God made for us we cant compare but us humans know when we are giving our all and truly feeling the pain. Even though to receive the Holy Spirit is but faith we must also in some way feel the pain of sacrifice.

  11. Mrs Esther,
Truly the fast of Daniel is not a easy scarifice because no matter what we do it will never match up to God sacrificing his one and only son. This is not for those who do not understand or appreciate what he has actually done for us,or for those who do not care about their salvation or just to follow friends, God see's our heart and knows when we are sincere.
This is giving us an opportunity to show him how much we love him and our desire to have him in our lives, by the actions we take, spending more time with him and blocking out the noise of the world. Even though we can meditate and seek him anytime its much nicer to obey him and do it in the right spirit and time that he wants us to and to me it always comes at the right time.

    God bless

  12. our sacrifice here on earth can never be compared to what our Lord Jesus has done for us. I am in the fast of Daniel because I want to become closer to God. He wants to bless us (His children) very much. this 21 days fast is another opportunity He is giving us to have the seal of salvation but we must desire this more than any thing else.

thank you Mrs Ester and God bless you.

  13. Dear Mrs Ester, I read this article on Monday and since then I've been asking myself that question "what am I doing to compensate Jesus for giving me the "greatest gift" anyone in the whole universe can receive? He paid the highest price that any one could pay so that I could know Him personally through the Baptism of His Spirit.
When the desire to receive the Holy Spirit arose in me I did mostly everything that was in my power to do so that I could call His attention. I wanted Him to know that I love Him and I wanted to be with Him for the rest of my life. I wanted Him to know that I could not bear 1 second without Him. I didn't want His Spirit only around me, I didn't want to be a sibling" but His daughter; I wanted us to become one. I was tired of information. Sick of not knowing who He really was. So nothing I did was enough for me to show Him how important He was to me. Now that I have Him I value Him more. In this first 2 days of the Fasting of Daniel He has been revealing to me what I haven't been doing and showing to Him. I am applying and it has been hard, specially to my flesh but Very rewarding for my Spirit. Although I still thinking there is much more to do. Thank you for having blessed me with the Word.
    In faith,

    Carmen

  14. Dear Mrs Ester

Now it is cleared to me the meaning of when the Pr says: more than we want the Spirit of God, He wants to give it to us.
It's because He has sacrificed for it, to give it to us so that it does not go in vain.

    Thank you very much.

May God bless you in all that you do.

  15. In everything that i read in this verse this is what stood out for me "...for God does not give the Spirit by measure"

By measure..., God himself does not measure how much of is spirit He will give to us He simply gives to us but in order to be able to receive the Holy Spirit we can not also give by measure, ok i fasted and prayed a little bit more so that's it. No way, it is without measure that we should be living a life of sacrifice because this is what God done for us when He sacrificed His, Dream His everything for us.
