Own desires

"But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed."
James 1:14

We have been privileged with the 'free will', but it is important to be extremely careful with your eyes, for some things considered 'normal' can easily entice us to sin. Let us watch!

  2. Thanks Mrs. Ester. We really need to be careful with our eyes because they can really lead us to sin, but if we have a strong relationship with God we can overcome temptations.
    thank You

  3. I am amazed at how easily sin can enter our lives, mostly by things that are subtle, ALMOST right. They seem to be right, but are against what God said, so they lead us in the way of sin. Our free will is God's gift to us. It is not to be abused, but well managed. Let's watch indeed! Thank you.

  4. Indeed, we cannot allow our eyes to lead us to sin, we need be conscious of what our eyes see nad the message they send to the brain.

  6. Indeed, we need to watch. Our own desires many times can lead us to sin, sometimes things that seem "normal" for the world are against God's will for us. Thanks for sharing this Bible verse with us.

  7. Mrs Esther it is more than truth, and I think the big mistake of christians today is allow themselves to think that everything is "normal". I think people end up losing their communion with God and surrendering to sin, because these "small details as normal".

  8. The Bible says that we should watch and pray. We should always take care of what comes out of our mouth and also what we allow our eyes to see and what we allow ourselves to believe. Thank you Mrs Ester.

yes many things in life may not be illegal or wrong in many people's eyes yet if it is not from God and i allow it , i am allowing myself to move away from God. therefore i need to keep my eyes on the things of God.

  12. Ahh, how wonderful to be called Friend of God, only that it is not for everyone, but for those who depend on God through faith, we must imitate Abraham, do what he did, using our faith to please God so that we may be also considered by Him as "Friends".
    This is a wonderful privilege!

  16. Really true, we must always be watchful. We must always ask and seek GOD if the desires that we have is HIS will for us or not.

    Thank you Mrs. Ester!

  22. Thank you for your post. I find that the internet is a very powerful tool for good; unfortunately, it can also be used for evil. This isn't just about the eye gate either. If I spend hours writing posts at the expense of time with Jesus than it can become an idol. Can you relate? or anyone else reading this comment?
I like your blog, would you please visit is mine Richard Hobart

  24. This is true... Just these past few weeks of my life, I asked God to make me become decisive of what I really want to be-- that is to CHOOSE GOD, Choose Righteousness. But things were not easy, TEMPTATIONS come my way! And with them I get to know myself more, realize that there are things or the DESIRES I HAVE which are having this "THIN LINE" towards committing a SIN... and worst, would lead me into TROUBLE where getting up will be very hard. And with this message, this reminds me again that I should not RELAXED IN MY FAITH and always be watchful, because the enemies' eyes are on me, because I DECIDE AND CHOOSE GOD NOW, and working hard for it. At this point in time, as a 19 years old girl, I already SEE THE TRUTH which sets me free and is changing me really, where REAL HAPPINESS-- I found and still searching for. And I thank My God Lord Jesus for it... :) Always... God bless Dona Ester.

  25. Dear Mrs Ester,
Our own desire may seem to have power over us but in my own experience it is defeated when you have a relationship with God but that doesnt mean it wont want to take over, it will even though it is defeated,,,, just dont compromise.
