Swift and slow

"So then, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath..."
James 1: 19

This is a good advice for everyone, especially for the woman. She learns much more when listening more and makes much less mistakes when speaking less. With this, one avoids misunderstandings, especially at home.

  1. I totally agree! When I was quick to listen and didn't just start yapping, I avoided so much trouble. But when I have. in past, just spoken what came to my head, I got burned. Because usually our first thoughts are silly thoughts or just emotions. They like to show up first sadly, rather than just a rational word or thought, though not always. But usually the smart thought comes right after, sometimes just a second later. But if in that second you just speak... it's most likely you say something you shouldn't. Thank you for the post!

  4. Many times we do the opposite, we are swift to speak and slow to listen and that brings a lot of problems in the home and among friends. This is good advice. Thanks.

  9. Ah, the importance of listening! We must always listen to others and, like bishop Renato once said, "never miss a good chance to shut up." Also, God is slow to anger and quick to forgive. We must be likewise.

  11. Completely agree Mrs. Ester. Being quick to talk can bring about misunderstandings and problems, but when we are prudent, think about what we say, and are quick to listen rather than make ourselves heard, we end up avoiding unnecessary trouble for ourselves and learning more... thanks.

  12. Good evening Mrs. Esther
Thank you so much for this message. So true!
We will never learn in hearing our own self talk. Much more we commit many mistakes in talking so much. Even worse is to hurt people because we can't tame our mouth.
Thank you so much for this advice.
