Flesh or Spirit

"For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit." Romans 8:5

It's easy to identify the person who walks in the Spirit, just look at her fruits. Those who are in the flesh only think of the things that please the flesh. They can't offer anything except things that are as fleshly as they are.

    Its so true, I one is in the flesh, then their fruits will show and the same with if one is in the Spirit, their fruits will show. this makes me aware, and makes me think to really analyse my fruits the way I am, as it says a good true can not produce bad fruit, it just doesnt make sense, its like a apple tree cant produce oranges, Im either in the spirit or in the flesh.

    True Mrs Esther a person that goes with the Spirit has good fruits but the one who goes with there flesh they do the wrong things.This is an eye opener for me i go with Spirit.I WILL APPLY IT TO MY LIFE.

    Yes, the person who walks in the Spirit it's noticeable to see at their fruits.And to be conscious and to over come the pleasers of their flesh. Our flesh can be a big distraction that could leave us empty spiritually and physically.

    This is so true, that is why many times we I look at people who are lost in the world and want to reach out them, if they behave or speak in an unproper way, I can't expect more from them because they are living according to their flesh which thrives on unproper things.

    The Bible also says that a fruit its known by its fruit. If I bear bad fruits everyone will notice and see that my seed is bad. Those who bear good fruits were founded on good soil that is why the seed became good and bared good fruits.
    We cannot allow to be ruled by our flesh, giving in to the pleasures of this world, which are by the way temporarily. That is why we have to live in spirit because our reward is in heaven.

    The flesh only ever produces bad fruits. That is why in our everyday life we must allow the Spirit to prevail to produce good fruits, these good fruits Glorifies our God.

    Mrs Esther this is so true. Those born of the spirit only have life giving words to share and to build others with. Those born of the flesh have nothing better to offer than things of the world.

    The Bible state that we see a tree by its fruits realy those who are in the flash thet dwell on the thisngs of this earth but those who are in Spirit they are always consened aboit the wiil of God.

    I totally agree with you Mrs Ester,

    The flesh always desires what is contrary to the word of God but however the spirit always desires to do more for God. I want to bare fruits of the spirit wherever i go.

    It is true that those born of the flesh their minds are on fleshly things. This was the same in the case of Peter I remember in the bible when Peter tried to impede Jesus to sacrifice Jesus rebuked the devil and said to Peter your mind is not on the things of God but of this world. This proves that God is not pleased when are mind are on fleshly things and the word of God says the Spirit i.e. God is contrary to the things of flesh and the flesh are contrary to the spirit. It is clear that God is Spirit and we as His followers should be in Spirit not in the flesh because we cannot claim to be children of God while we are born of the flesh.

    This message is very true, we need to ask God to fill us with his presence daily so that we can produce the fruits of the Holy Spirit and pray so that we do not get distracted by our fleshly desires.

    This is very clear but very strong.
    Although its not only by what you do that makes you to be born of God. But however, you will see by their fruits. Not only what they do but what drives them to the action they make. Eg. Someone who lives acording to their flesh always thinks and literally lives for the life on this earth. Whereas, those who are in Spirit may enjoy the life they are living now, but they live for the future (kingdom of heaven) not because they are forced to but it becomes natural for them.

    This is something we need to carefully observe within ourself also to see how we have been living.According to the flesh or according to the spirit because that will determine who we are. Because we are what we live, when we live according to the Spirit it will show through the things we do and how we live. Thank you

    What this means for me is that those who are of the flesh desire the things of the flesh and to be self-fulfilled e.g. with material possessions and self-gain, thus in things that are perishable. However, those that are of the Spirit have a desire for things that are everlasting, going to be permanent, that will lead to life and are selfless. Although we have been taught that there is nothing wrong with having material blessings, it is important to look at the bigger picture as if we only look to conquer material and things for ourselves, at the end of the day we do not die with these things thus what value is it to us in the end. However, if we die without our salvation, then we are truly lost and suffer the consequences.

    the true baptism in of the Holy Spirit will lead us to walking in Spirit because without His presence, we will walk in the flesh causing us to produce the fruits of the flesh.

    When a person has the Spirit of God she transmits it through every step, trhough every action taken. In everything is possible to see the Holy Spirit present in her life but when the person does not have the Holy Spirit all she does is empty without life, as much as she strives will always be missing something, the character of God!

    What many people don't realise is that the things of the flesh are temporary and almost every time; these are the things that people desire for the most. When these things fade away, what then can this person rely on? This is why it is so important to focus on the Spiritual things because God is Spirit; Salvation is connected with the Spirit so therefore although we are in the world of flesh we must live according to the Spirit. God knows how hard it will be for us and this is why He promised us the Helper.

    "Flesh or spirit"
    I dont remember what chapter it is in the Bible - but it said that you would enter the kingdom of God with only the Holy spirit and being baptised in water...flesh is not included.
    this message showed me that its time to step up in the game because its not time to play around but time to dedicate yourself to God, there was this time that i asked my self, "is my relationship with GOD PERFECT?" I KNEW FROM THE BACK OF MY HEAD THAT IT WAS A NOOOOO...this had to changed because i knew that i didnt want to be left behind, so things had to change. i learnt that i have to deicate myself to God and think about the Holy spirit but i also need to know that Material things and what the world has to give me is NOTHING TO ME AND ITS BLIND TO ME...MAKING THIS MY PAST...:)WE CANT BE JUST SAYING IT BUT WE ALSO NEED TO PRODUCE THE FRUITS:)...THANK YOU FOR THE MESSAGE MS ESTER

    It is true Mrs Ester that you know a tree by its fruit and this means that a person who is of God should have his nature or character. For people to know God there must see Him in our character.

    It is true that you are what you are, if you are flesh you give flesh and if you are spirit you give spirit. As the bible says; "For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit". when you are in flesh you always practice the things of the flesh to satisfy yourself.

    This is very true. You don't even have to announce that you're living in flesh because it will be obvious to those who see you.
    One thing I fear is to live in the flesh. You please God when you're living in Spirit and bearing fruits that glorify His name.

    When one is in spirit they walk in spirit to and through thier action they show that God is part of them and they serve him and him alone. And same apply for those who live by flesh ,they dont have fruits expect their will and dont have God'd reflection in them
