God's Joy

"... Do not sorrow, for the joy of the LORD is your strength."
Nehemiah 8:10

Children are either glory or shame of their parents. However, the joy of the parents, just as of God, is the strength of His children.

  1. Oh yes! Our strength and trust in God proves that our roots are in Him. When problems come our way, perserverance kicks in and victory is waiting at the end.

  2. Hi Mrs. ester
I like this because it means that God rejoices in Our strength. So no matter how tough the world may be we have to be strong and fight because this pleases God and surely we can overcome anything.

  3. I understood that God's joy comes from us, our strength and the way we decide to glorify Him! The same way when I do good, when im praised or even given an reward my mum is always happy because i've done something everyone can look at and something she can say shes proud off is the same thing with God, when we do His will, when we are able to come out of a hard situation stronger it brings Joy to God. When we go through a certain problem and we manage to conquer it by our faith and trust in God, we come out stronger than how we was before the problem came, it makes God happy because He see's the manifestation of our faith the trust and love we managed to have in Him, every second of the day.

  4. I agree with you mrs Esther God is not please when we are weak, without hope. He is not pleased when we are in shame He proved this when He said instead of our shame He will give us double honour. God's joy is our strenght indeed as we are His ambassodors here on earth

  5. Ellie Mbuima said...Thanks for this verse Mrs Ester, no loving and caring parent would like their children to be miserable, so God does not want us to be sad but He wants us to be joyful and to be in peace. We are representing God in our lives therefore when we are sad and not in peace it means we are saying that our father is not taking care of us. When we are happy God is happy too

  7. Hello Mrs Ester,
What I have received from this message is that I need to remain in joy even in hard times, without doubting but continue to seek in God's strength as he will help me through it. Also it is important for us to be a testimony at home, so that we glorify his name and character in our lives by being an example and true role models to others.

  8. Hi Mrs Ester,
When reading this, i understood that our Father doesn't have this great joy when we are kicked down to the bottom of the staircase and keep our face on the ground because we feel like we cant even look up to the. But He is joyful when He sees although you may still be at the bottom of the staircase, you are there standing, looking right up to the top floor. When we are sorrowful, our spirit tends to be exhausted. But when we keep this assurance and know that it is because God is with us we can overcome this, Our Father rejoices because His children know that with Him, everything will be ok!

  10. Hi Mrs Ester

I had previously heard this scripture to mean that we are strong because of God's joy. But, I never really agreed with that I always understood this passage to mean that God's delight was that we kept our strength. So, I am very happy to see that I was not the only one thinking that. When I was in my darkest moments a few years ago, I wanted to give up but, then I would always tell myself that God has given me another day and so another opportunity to have a change in the way my life was. So, thankfully, I can see a difference from then and now and also I can remind myself that God is delighted when we keep fighting to overcome and have His glory in our lives.
