ANGER

"Be angry, and do not sin; do not let the sun go down on your wrath, nor give place to the devil."       Ephesians 6.26-27
The world we live in does not allow us to be perfect. There are moments where we get angry. However, we cannot allow this anger to turn into grief. Before the sun goes down that anger must give way to repentance and forgiveness.
By doing this, the devil will not find any gaps to enter into your life.

  1. This verse is so good to read again. Although, we may already KNOW something, it's good to have a REMINDER. We cannot be perfect in this world and dealing with different situations and people is a daily thing. So if anger was to stir up, we definately should not take it to bed with us. REPENT and leave the issue in God's hands and NOT carry it on. Now doesn't that feel better?...

  2. This is something that we all go through every now and then, we just need to be careful and not allow the anger goes to bed with us. The devil is waiting for a small chance go in.

  4. We can't allow anger to control us. Even because if we go to bed with bad feelings, giving space to evil control us, in that night our time can come, and we can lose our salvation, just because we couldn't forgive. May God bless all of us, giving us spirit of forgiveness.

  5. Indeed anger can open up a gap for the devil to make one use emotions, and that is something I can't do,opening up a gap for the devil. That is why I must bind forgiveness in my heart all the time.

  7. We all get angry at one point or other but what matters is what we do after... How do we control ourselves, forgive etc. It's important that we do resolve any issue we have with anyone before the end of that day. Holding that anger leads to din because then you'll have a grudge which then makes your life a playground for the devil. It may be really hard because this person has really hurt you and you wasn't expecting it but if we say we love Jesus and we want to be like him so then we must obey his word even in times we may not agree.

  8. From this verse and this post, I have a greater understanding that holding on to anger is voluntarily holding on to a feeling that only the devil wants us to have in our hearts and as soon as he sees something of his inside, namely grudges, then he will see that he has a right to enter. We can't allow this to happen so we have to let go of all bad feelings.

  9. Thank you Mrs. Ester
You know, when someone wrongs us, its important that we forgive that person before the sun sets because if we don't forgive, then we're putting our own salvation at risk and we're causing this pain to our hearts

  10. Dear Mrs Ester,
I am touched by the fact that you say that when a person has gotten angry, before the sun goes down they must repent. This means to me that when we allow ourselves to get angry, we are in fact allowing ourselves to sin. But praise be to our God who knows our imperfections and who is always willing to grant us forgiveness.

May God help us all to be in more control of our emotions that we do not give satan the chance to pick at our salvation.

  11. Hello Mrs Ester

This verse reminds me about one of the fruits of the Holy Spirit, self-control, we need to have it in order for us not to be controlled by anger.

  13. Dear Mrs Ester,

Indeed this world is not perfect and many times we face situations that make us angry... With me, specially with children, who daily test my patience :-) but it is up to me to let it go before it turns into grief. By forgiving we let go of any feelings that can harm our spiritual life.

    May God bless you.

  14. Dear Mrs. Ester,
First of all i will like to thank you for this, because from personal experiences i know how it is being in a situation causing me to be angry but knowing that i have to forgive and forget allows me to feed on God's spirit because holding things in my heart after being angry will allow the devil to enter.
    Thank you again x

  16. Mrs Ester,
This is a very true verse before I came to God I always use to hold feelings and hurt inside especially against my partner. When I left that abusive relationship I promised that things I use to do I wouldn't do any more and I was surprised an shocked to see it working an me embracing what I was being taught If me and my partner disagree I never go to sleep without telling him something nice because that is one of ways we use this attitude of anger and I can not accept the devil to come and steal, kill and destroy any part of my life.

  17. Good afternoon Mrs Ester,

This is a good reminder that there will be times where we will be angry but we must remember to direct our anger at the problem(s) not the person/people.

This Sundays event The Rally Of the Angry, is a prime example of how we must use our righteous anger against our problems.I am looking forward to this event because I know that God is with me fighting my battles.

Thank you for a wonderful message.

  18. Dear Mrs Ester,
I would like to thank you for this message and it is so true that no matter how hard you try the is no way that we cannot be angry for example we cannot avoid a flies, cockroaches from invading our homes but we have to deal we them. This also applies to us as humans we cannot avoid being angry but we must not let the sun go down on our wrath.

  19. I remember when I had anger problems. I would talk to no one if they got me upset and go straight to bed sometimes no dinner nothing. When I woke up next morning I found TOTALLY impossible to forgive that person. I thank God for setting me free from this problem . Now when I get angry I talk about it and calm myself down before I go to bed . Also pray about the situation and ask God to give me self-control to walk away when an incident occurs.
    Thanks Mrs.Ester for this message.

  20. Hi Mrs Ester,
A problem I had was that I would get angry but then I would feel bad after and the thoughts of 'you are not of God' and 'people of God do not get angry' etc would come to mind and I will begin to feel weak, until I came across this verse... Now I have allowed my self to be a person who does not sleep on situations. Someone can do something to be today that I do not like but then I would have forgotten by the next day... Thank you for this post..x

We are human beings we all get angry but letting the anger control our live is not an option because it bring distraction, to those born of God have received have the Spirit of self-control they can control then self in times of anger. therefore we should seek His Spirit in our daily lives.

  27. Its very important to have self control though we face challenges in our daily lives, because anger fuels actions, and if you dont have that self control the devil may find a way to make you sin.
