Philippians 3.13-14Paul was wise. He made sure to put the past behind him, in order to move forward towards the future. Intelligent faith requires us to do the same. On the other hand, emotional faith insists on remembering the past to counteract the faith of the Spirit of God.
Anyone who wants to obtain eternal salvation must forget about their past.

It's true, this is what was also passed in the service today. The good memories/ bad ones are all in the past, if we dwell on them we'll live in the past and become stuck. The most important day is today; we should always look forward and never steer left, right or behind.

ReplyDeleteThe past can not exist in our lives, yes, because we do not live in the faith, but faith in the emotional and the Spirit of God. We have to follow always looking forward.
When we become born of God the past means nothing to us any more. Only those who aren't born of Him will always be remembering the past and it will stop them moving forward. We should follow Paul's example.

That's why God gave us eyes not to move backward but to move forward. Instead of remembering the past let's focus on our relationship to Jesus and on our salvation.

ReplyDeleteHi Mrs Esther, this is very true in order for us to move forward with the life that God has planned for us we most forget our past whether is success of failure..It also important that we forgive our selves and hold on to the word of god , then and only then will the Holy spirit be able to work in our lives.. What we have to remember is that the devil only reminds us of our past because he doesn't want us to move forward..

Hi mrs esther we heard this yesterday in the meeting in london and its so true bishop said "when the devil reminds you of the past remind him of his future" and its true whenever you think about your past you never have the same confidence to overcome your obstacles and it says in hebrews that we have need of this confidence so no wonder why the devil tries to steal it.
ReplyDeleteOur mind cannot be in the past while our body is in the future, if one dwells in the past they will not see the blessings in store for them and will always think past. One has to move on, focus and think ahead.We cannot be alive but dead in the spirit. We need to nature and take care of our spiritual life.

ReplyDeleteI am so touched by this message because i was one person who couldn't let go of the past not knowing that I am delaying myself but the moment I realized that by living the past in the future is hurting me more than i was before.
