"But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses." Matthew 6.15The law of forgiveness is inflexible. There is no way around it.
Either you forgive and are forgiven, or you do not forgive and will not be forgiven.
It is up to each person to decide whether to forgive or not and it's their obligation as well.
Those who do not forgive are condemning themselves.
When we do not forgive all we're doing is hurting ourselves the other person is getting on with them lives while we're still holding a greude. Not forgiving actually gives that person power over you, so the best thing we can do is to forgive and God our father is faithful to forgive us.
ReplyDeleteGood day Mrs Ester
ReplyDeleteThe bible says we should be God's imitates; and do what he did ever more than that, if our Lord Jesus forgave us on the cross why? people shall not forgive others people mistakes. Thank you

Thank you Mrs Ester, our Lord Jesus is the father of forgiveness, only if we can think and understand how many times do we ask God for forgiveness almost every day but it is difficult to forgive someone when its the time for us to put our faith into action. Its an intelligent thinking the way I see.We need to fight and let go the heart of stone because God can not use us if we still keep grudges,I have learnt and am still learning more Mrs Ester and I truly agree with you when a person keeps grudges against someone they do not hurt the other person but they hurt themselves. Forgiving a person is not just buy saying words but its about our inside on how do we feel when we see the people are not happy with ?

Thank you Mrs Ester, I second you on that, forgiveness is a two way process! Most people want God to always forgive them, but they find it hard to forgive. I have heard people saying “but I am a Christian I have already forgiven her/him but that does not mean I will ever forget what he/she did to me”. Then I ask them how would you feel if God said so and so, I have heard your prayer and I have forgiven you but I will not forget what you have done? Personally, I have learnt to always forgive and forget, I know sometimes it can be so hard once when someone does something to you, but I have learnt not to grief The Holy Spirit, I humble myself by approaching the person and asking them, “if I had done anything to trigger any grudge or miss-understanding please forgive me”. The Lord has taught me to always play my part. I must say sometimes it has been so hard, but at the end of the day or playing my part, I feel lighter. Thank you for sharing this wonderful message, self-reflection week for me.
ReplyDeleteThis is a very important scripture which a lot of Christians forget to put into practice. We have to walk in love so forgiving those who have hurt us is important. If we don't then God cannot forgive us and we are putting our salvation in jeopardy. Holding grudges also makes us bitter so we have to humble ourselves and be obedient by forgiving those who have hurt us.
ReplyDeleteThank you Mrs Ester for this message.
Thank you Mrs Ester, and many times when we chose to forgive we are doing ourselves a big favour.
ReplyDeleteForgiveness is a must if you dont and hold grudges your only making your own life worse.
ReplyDeleteThe Lord Jesus is the father of forgiveness. If to be a Christian, is to be like Jesus and if we have the DNA of Our Father Jesus Christ and the Spirit of our father, how is it difficult to forgive or are we truly his as we claim to be.
ReplyDeleteIt's not easy to forgive. But who we are not to forgive to the people who did wrong us? We are only human beings. If God forgave us in all our sins and mistakes we must forgive as well.

When one gives, he/she will receive as well. Indeed this is an action, reaction matter. Forgiveness is important to us and others, imagine if all of us in the world hating each other, then we will kill each other till there is no one left. But God in His prayer teaches us that when we forgive, He will also forgive us. He said forgive your neighbor 77 times as more which means endlessly. Forgiveness is not for the other person but you. Its like drinking a poison and thinking it will kill the one you hate but instead it destroys you more. Where will then God sit if your heart if it is filled with hate? Our body is the Temple of the Holy Spirit and we need to take care of it.
