"I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh." Ezekiel 36.26This promise relates to the days after the ascension of the Lord Jesus Christ. But why not everybody receives the Holy Spirit? Because not everyone has been dedicating themselves body, soul and spirit to receive it. Not all give up sin. Then, it really is hard to receive new heart and spirit.

Stone is pretty hard, probably hard to mould so if that is what you have for a heart, you are not giving God much to work. When you allow Him to take that away and replace it with a heard of flesh, you have given God the go ahead to pinch, prod, twist, mould (can be very painful) you into what He wants to make you. ReplyDeleteI must say I’m happy for all those who already receive a heart of flesh as His promise. The words of God are still alive, are true and will manifest in the life of those who are willing to give up the wrong life. In other words those who are willing to deny themselves pick up the cross and follow. Jesus Christ is the same, today, tomorrow and forever. He is ready and waiting to gives to you His Spirit, but only if you are ready. OH, how sweet and patient He is.

To have a heart of stone God isn't able to work with you if we allow him to give us that heart of flesh then and only then can he start changing us.

With a heart of stone your life is stuck, God cannot mould you nor talk to you. When you have a new heart and spirit you are able to face challenges you wasn't able to overcome before because God gives you all the capacity you need. As each day goes forward He moulds you more and more.
ReplyDeleteMrs Esther, The key word for me in this blog is the giving up sin. I recognised that God could only change me and give me a new heart and a new life when I started to give up all that was wrong in me and my life. I used to be a atheist, I used to say that God did not exist but Today I not only know he Exist but that He is more real than anything else in my life.

These days a lot of people that used to do the work or the will of God are no more in the church to seek our Lord Jesus in the first place.
ReplyDeleteThey have not denied there own flesh, they have listen to it.
This is a big rock between human and God if we do not listen or give our all to Him.
If we do listen an do His will we will get everything new in life.
