Temperance

"And everyone who competes for the prize is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a perishable crown, but we for an imperishable crown." I Corinthians 9.25

Competitive athletes undergo strict training, dieting and exemplary discipline. They make real sacrifices hunting for medals and the glory of this world. Even so, in time, their glory and accomplishments are forgotten.
The same does not happen to the true glory, which is reserved to the loyal and faithful to the Lord of Eternal Glory.

  1. This imperishable crown is my Salvation, and I know in order to have it i need to pass through the narrow gate, i need to do sacrifices, to have discipline towards the word of God, but is worth a million times, my salvation is priceless! thanks mrs Esther

  2. Everything we want to achieve is through sacrifice even people of the world know this and they put all their effort for this temporary reward.
Those who serve the Lord great will be their reward in heaven.
I need to put all my efforts to please my Lord and my reward is to spend eternity in His Holy Presence.
    Love your blog Mrs Ester.

  3. Reading this message make me to think, Do I really please God or Man. Or do I please God God with my daily Life. Also whatsoever I does for God must be everything more than my own life because the Life that I have now is only à temporary one.

    Thank Mrs Ester

  4. When we want to achieve things of the world, we work hard and do not rest until we achieve that dream. When we receive it we fight for something else that we desire. But how many of us put all strength to receive the holy spirit and to receive everlasting life?

I know that I was guilty of that but now I'm putting all my strength to receive the holy spirit. But not for my own selfish desires but for Gods glory.

Thank you Mrs Ester for this message.

  5. I know that in due time I would have forgotten the names of the athletes that took part in the olympics and won medals. But the crown of salvation can never be forgotten as it lasts forever.

  6. Dear Mrs Ester,

This is a thought provoking message.
People of the world fight hard to be the best they can be no matter what the cost and are very competitive for things that will eventually lose their value.
But the servants of God realise that to have the Holy Spirit is priceless, and i prepared to sacrifice their own will and desires to obey the word of God. Our crown is our salvation to spend eternity with with our Lord God.
This is not for the short term like all the material things we conquer in this world but is for eternity even after we depart from this life.

God Bless you Mrs Ester for this message.
